After run oil usage

I am no nitro expert, but saw this asked before and it seems whenever you won't be running it for awhile was suggested by the gurus. I always put a couple drops in mine right after using it because I never ran mine every day. As far as brand, I doubt it matters enough to notice, but like I said, I'm no expert. I do know that back in the 80's, it was WD40 that my dad and all his rc plane buddies used.

Thanks for the info. I read on the traxxas website that WD40 or any after run oil is fine and to be used if the motor is going to be sitting for longer than like 3 hours

I use a couple drops every time I am done for the day. I'm never sure when I'll be able to get out again.
Very true. Take me for instance. Got through 2.5 tanks into the break in and already have to send it to traxxas for warranty. Drive train related. Would buck with little throttle then take off, now it just throttles up and goes nowhere. Local shop looked at it and says it's probably in the transmission fml

I'm more into electric anymore. The only nitro I have now is my Tmaxx. I have a Redcat Tornado but it's a pile of parts and is going to remain that way.
I do like electric also just always thought when I was like 10 and growing up that a nitro powered rc car was crazy and well it stuck. Also can't beat the $379 I paid for it on rcsuperstore.com... electric 50,60,70+mph rc comes with electric 50,60,70+mph money 💰 🤑 💸 and let's just say I've got a lot on my plate as it is than to be spending 1k on a car. Badass no doubt 😎 just not in the budget haha

I use this

I dug the rigs I have out of the attic, they were my sons - apparently he was not an After Run Oil kind of guy - the engines were locked up on most of them. Nothing a good clean and rebuild didn't fix, but why. I run an After Run Oil in them when I am done for the day. I doubt it matters which brand or WD-40 for that matter. I clean the fuel cells out with De-Natured Alcohol and let just a touch run through the engine, not much, just a rev or so from what I can't dump out, because there is no oil in it. the good is - it gets the oil residue out of the cell and fuel lines, the bad is it don't have any oil for the engine. After a very quick and short run, I crank the engine over with drops of After Run Oil in the Glow Plug hole and in the carb.

Good idea. I think I would do that if I put her up for like 6 months or more

Don't use WD40 and don't listen or get advice off the traxxas site.. If I use any and that's a big IF.. its 3 n 1 like cbaker65 said... nothing else. It's made for machinery. WD40 isn't a lubricant... the only time you need after run oil is if your not going to be running your truck for more then a month. If not for a couple weeks your fine. If not for a month or more then yes put a drop or two in and turn motor over. A couple times then that's it

Your really should use 3 n 1 oil bud. But if your going to use WD40. You should get silacone type. Not the regular WD40....is not good for your seals..
Just add a drop or two in carb inlet and also in the glow plug hole... thats it. And you have to make sure you run every drop of fuel out of engine... drain the tank. Pull the fuel line and start it a few times... till it won't start any more.. then you can install the oil... not while there's fuel still in emegine

No not so many unless you want to end up buying new engine then that's on you... 3 n 1 should be the only option...

That kyosho engine you only needed the recoil correct. Not te pull also. Found a place or a guy onle as vintage stuff. I actually found a pull start fornthe duratrac torq 16. I'm almost done with the restoration. Need the exhaust and should be able to fire it up. I keep forgetting the part number...I found a couple recoiles for ya. Just not sure which one would work. What engine is it off of
