ok so i have a little extra money burning a hole in my pocket and I'm kicking around the idea of maybe getting into another nitro truck. right now i have a jato 3.3 and its fun as anything. i was thinking of maybe doing another ST or a MT. not planning on going new and probably going to tear it down to a roller and start from there. any advice on what trucks are good to start from?

not really looking for an RTR think i really just want a roller and build it up a little. everyone seems to be really big fans of the savage though, its that good of a rig?

yeah definitely another nitro car cheaseafc. i couldnt enjoy running an electric as much. not knocking electrics they're just not for me.

Fair enough, everyone has their own oppinions.

savage or slayer IMO. both are very tough trucks. If you have smooth rolling mounds or a manicured track, get the slayer. If the ground is less forgiving then get the savage.

If you are looking to go simple, the firestorm is a fun little ST and fairly easy to work on.

I am with you on nitro vs electric. I have been on both ends of the spectrum and i enjoy nitro the most. I will compromise and give up some power for the noise and tuning that nitro offers.

i would go for the HPI MT2 Nitro G3.0 4 wheel drive car, very simple car design great fun and there are many upgrades available for it, i have the MT and MT2 and am currently upgrading the MT atm

Since this was from 6 months ago... I"d assume you've either bought something or spent the money on life due to the economy...

But, I'd suggest getting a MT.

I have a jato as well and honestly, I drive it the most due to it's quickness, fuel economy, noise and durability. But, it does fill a specific nitch, fast and fun!

I like having a MT as well to lumber around with. More ground clearance allows for various terrain. The jato runs best on pavement, very very short grass or dirt. Although, in dirt, it's almost uncontrollable due to traction issues.

I run a heavily modified savage and aftershock for my MT's. Had the aftershock and traded a 1/8 buggy for the savage at the end of last season. The only thing the jato wouldn't do that the buggy would is jump rediculously high and far without damage. Which is good for when your with your buddies, but not as fun when alone. Since I bash alone 98% of the time, I figured adding a savage back to my stable would be a good choice and I'm glad I did. Now I drive it or the jato usually.

I only break out the aftershock the very few times I run with friends due to how it handles and performs. Makes cat and mouse chases much more in my favor. ;)
