this is my question i am in the process of re building my nsr4 mt with mt2 suspension parts radio servos you know the stuff you guys buy because you can :jk: . anyway i want a new engine. i want one that hi rpms, thats a direct bolt on into my mt and is under 160. i know the O.S .18 is known for being a good mill but what else is out there thats is affordable?

hi there,

for good low end, you can't really beat the OS .18's for the price....but if you're looking for high rpm's, you might want to look into getting a .12 engine....i want to say the OS will get you up to 20-something-k rpm's but dont quote me as i dont remeber exactly....even with a .12 you won't get much higher as off road engines need more torque.....i've personnaly had the privelage to once own an orig NMT like yours but w/ an OS .15cv-r and it hualed....i'd honestly suggest getting the 18cv-r as it is probably your cheapest, most effective engine upgrade. You could always go with the 18TZ but seeing as the diff on this car are the same as the nitro3, I wouldn't unless you want to buy new diff gears everytime you run your ride. Good luck

I would also suggest the OS .18CV-R(X). The MT will be better of with an .18, if you use a .12 you will be lacking torque and will have slow accel. You can gear it with the .18 to have a similar top speed as one with a hi revving .12.

alright then. thanks. i will be getting the .18 then. i was just looking for something different.
