I'm 87.6% sure I'm going to buy this.... what brand motor and ESC does it have and what batteries would you reccomend for two 3s lipo's? Like reccomended current rate and what will fit in it. I'm a new to this brushless scene. Kinda want to keep the batteries cheap, but best bang for the buck. Thanks!

The battery compartment is very limited on space so the batteries can't be over a certain size which I can't find any info offhand right now. Any help is appreciated.

Theres a couple of things that concern me about this kit. The specs on the kit say it can handle up to 6S lipo but the Max voltage on the motor is only 23V which is less than the voltage of a fully charged 6S pack. Probably wont kill the engine but I'm betting it will make it get hot much easier. Id probably run the kit on 4S. The other thing about it that concerns me is if you did run it on 6S the specs on the motor says it only has 3.5mm bullet connectors which is pretty small for that kind of power. Id watch the connectors for high temps.

As for lipos that fit....If you are gonna run it on 6S then heres some 3S lipos you can buy that are good budget packs, have a nice C rating, and will fit the lipo trays.

Does the discharge rating double when the batteries are together as 6s?

And the mAh is still the same and not doubled right?

And is this truck a worthwhile decision or is there better for the same price and 6s comparable? If it says its 6s comparable I'm going to run 6s just because lol....

Thanks for the battery lesson!

Well like I said the specs under the kit says 6S compatible but the specs under the motor would suggest that the motor has a 5S max. Theres a bit of discrepancy there.

As for the kit itself. Its $500. For another $140 you can get a Savage Flux which is way better quality than the Thunder Tiger IMO. Its a little more monster truck though unlike the Thunder Tiger which seems to be a little more truggy like. The flux is a 6S Castle 2200kv power beast and its known for its durability. If it were me Id go the extra $140. (Tower Hobbies is giving a $15 gift card with the purchase of a savage flux right now too btw).

I don't think I can swing more than $500. EBay has the thunder tiger for about $470. Depending on my check maybe, just maybe I can afford more... I would like the flux more tho.

I'd recommend going with a more common brand that you can get parts for locally. It sucks having to wait more than a couple of days for parts.

Savage or thundertiger I'll still have to wait on broken parts.... is the mt4 6s comparable? Dang it guys why do you got to including more options for me to research!!!

So I reviewed everyone's advice and bought this!!!

Yes used. $550. Practically new. Few scuffs. Nothing major. The dog bones and cups had no wear on them. Stock tires and wheels are still new. The previous owner said it was just too much for him to handle.

Wife wasn't too happy I bought it because she knew how much I dumped into the revo lol. I told her it is so the boys had one to play with too.
