There is a fine line between necessity and stupidity when playing the RC game. I don't purchase no where the amount that others do and I would have to say that I have enough cash sunk in this hobby.

You said it, not me!

BTW, I plead the fifth

cold hard earned yeah earned CASH!! money well spent its like getting a good deal on a B.J...lmao

I was lucky, had a bunch of stuff I did not want and traded it for a bunch of cars. The most I spent was fixing the first car up that I bought off eBay. Yesterday I walked out of that HS spending only $13 for two new pinion gears and a bunch of set screws (should have bought some locktite also).

that's the way to do it....
I buy all kinds of part lots when I see ridiculous deals, mostly T-Maxx stuff cause they are easy to sell....but I have recovered all of my investment and made a small profit to fund my maxx project...but now I have to say I am into this hobby for close to 900 bucks which isn't bad compared to some people....and i still have stuff to put together and sell and all my cars/trucks I play with.....I figure a hobby is reasonable till you're over a grand into it....after that much there had better be something you can tell your grandkids about from it

sounds like you're telling me I'm screwed? cool! $1k aint much money anymore. I'm close to twenty times that in just over two years, but i guess some has been recouped by selling stuff i didnt really need.
grandkids? I've got another 7 years (minimum i hope) before that happens. then the son is old enough to do as he pleases. but i still dont forsee telling my grandkids about my wild r/c racing days.

 Whoa, If I could get my mother-in-law to lay off the crack and donate that habit's funding to me..... Just think of all the money for r/c I would have! Hmm, How can I get her to do that?

Get her to start smoking nitro fumes!

LOL

Or you can turn her out like a pimp at a strip club and make money that way.....
I hope you are JK about the crack though...that stuff ruins people quick....

If I could get my hands on the money mine spends on prescription drugs to make her happy I'd be able to fund my hobby and a few of you also ;)

Unfortunately, I'm not joking about the crack. My wife told me that her mother informed her that she was smoking crack for "fun". She said it was for "fun" only and that she could stop anytime she wanted. *cough*bullish*cough* Another thing she told her was that she wasn't trading sex for rock. *cough*bullish*cough* again, why would she mention that if it wasn't a factor.
I just hate that she's hooked on this crap now. I told my wife, "I'm not trying to be mean, but you can say goodbye to your mother." I mean as far as I'm concerned, she's done for. She's (mother-in-law) been addicted to pot since her high school years.

I know it's a sad thing and she has no idea how bad she hurts my wife doing this shiznit. Oh well. Life goes on..........

How old is she? Trying to picture mine trading sex for anything *shudder*

Smoking POT had nothing to do with the crack ho mom in law you have now. Just wanted to clear that up!

Agreed.....I find it funny when people say I blame weed or alcohol for their addictions...BULLSHIP!!!..Blame yourself and your lack of self control.......whether or not you want to blame that on something/one else is up to you and your overpaid shrink.....

Sorry about the crack mom... I thought you were kidding.

RCDad, Man, do I know what your talking about. My wife has chronic migraines. I think between dr visits and prescriptions, we spend an easy $400-$600 a month on just that. To bad she still has headaches for no apparent reason...

You can't blame your addictions on your problems, but you can DEFINATELY blame your problems on your addictions.

Hi, my name is Rolex, and I'm a Nitroholic. So far it hasn't been a major problem.

Mine too, chronic headaches, chronic anxiety, chronic etc. wtf is wrong with these women?
