I'm thinking of getting a reverse module for my savage and i know i need a reciever and transmitter with at least 3 channels. I'm having trouble finding a 3 channel transmitter i like ( i don't use the pistol type transmitter). Can i use a transmitter with 4,5,6 or 7 channels and still only use 3 of them..?? They all seem to say they are for helicopters so i'm wondering if they'll work for this.

Not legal by FCC standards. They are strictly for air frequency.
You CAN get a 6 channel stick radio for ground use.
I'm not sure where I saw it, but check out Tower, or just do a search on 'ground frequency R/C radios'. I think Futaba or Airtronics had them.
You will get a 6 channel receiver with it, and you only use the ones you need.

Didn't realise there was so much to it.. cheers for the quick reply though rolex, i'll look into them..

Good price on the Futaba.
Interesting point on the 2.4s. When I got my M11 I asked a friend if many guys at the flying field were switching to 2.4, and he said they were, and were also using the same radios for boats, so I guess it covers it all.

The reason I ask, in rc crawling most of the guys that run a super use a DX6 or 6i . I understand using a FM or AM airplane feq. radio in a ground vehicle around an airfield will get you shot by the airplane guys. :hehe:
