I'm starting to get frustrated with this thing. First time out, broke a shock end. Second heat, brake linkage came apart, third heat another shock end. Second race weekend, first heat, broken rear toe block and the it also bent the forward hinge pin holder for the rears. Anyone else have this much trouble with theirs? I picked up different shafts and some aluminum shock ends and also picked up the dynamite linkage set. Have to find more parts now. If it breaks again, watch the for sale forum!

Thats why I got rid of my LSP. They handle great but I couldn't keep mine in one piece.

I wish I could blame it on the boards! The toe block broke going easy over a table top! The shock broke end broke on a double. Might look at the Kyosho, everyone around here is running a Jammin' and I just don't care too much for it. Wonder if Ratzo is still selling the Mugen he picked up from Bruce?

Buy the damn Mugen!! Ratzo has the ST-R. 375 shipped is a freaking deal!PM him... I know he is at Barnstormers so he should get back to you later.

Hehe, I saw that after I posted that message! I've sent him a PM. Might be an LSP for sale soon, any takers?

Jet i have an Lsp and with a few upgrades its solid!! Get the racers edge shock ends and King Headz aluminium toe blocks and problems fixed.. Ran with Ratzo and Buddha today with the only problem was got wacked and broke my servo saver arm and i dont run easy!!Check out AMain Hobbies they have everything under lsp hop up parts..

good luck with the mugen that one is really week. chassis brace ends stretch causing chassis flex. wear out wheel bearings due to the hub extenders. my buddy has one and its broke all the time and he isn't hard on it. every truck has its weekness once there fixed your golden. put the king heads stuff on your lsp and its pretty tough, i won't say it won't break but it will be rare

Hmmm, well, I canned the LSP and have the Mugen Prospec conversion and installed the Tony's long arm kit. Other than a blown steering servo, I haven't had any issues with it. How the hell do you stretch an aluminum chassis brace anyway? There's now three of running MSR's at my local track and w definitely don't baby them and none of us are having any issues with it.

k here's the deal with my buddies mugen msr. he bought it brand new this past spring. the chassis braces he has are rods with rod ends and they stretch very easy like after two races there's already play in there. two his kit didn't include the one piece engine mount causeing even more flex. causeing his clutch bell to get chewed up very easy, again this truck has only raced like three races and his has replaced chassis brace rod ends clutch bells like mad and is constantly breaking a-arms and other little things that shouldn't break in my opinion for a pro kit costing 650 with no gear it should be more dependable in my opinion. right now with his purchase price and gear with all the replacement parts he put in he has well of 2 grand in it and its still not dependable

OK here is your problem.

Try replacing with aluminum braces rather than use the the threaded ones. I can't see anyone strecthing one of those.

my point here was its a 650 dollar kit with no gear in it and it still needs upgrades. my point was all kit need personalized tweeking, the guy with the problem with the lsp had a great truck if he would have ironed it out some all kits have to be tweeked to some extent. with 7 bills i could make a lsp pretty tuff and you get to run it right out of the box granted the motor probably isn't the best but it gets the job done and the radio gear is pretty basic but there again it get the job done just put in a good steering servo. a 300 dollar radio don't make me drive any better that stuff is all personalization

Very true. SOme people just want to have a kit that will last a bit till they get more cash rounded up to get those upgrades. I spent a lot on my old X5 to get it to prospec level. Didn't want to sound wrong to you, sorry if I did.

I am sure Jet knows this as well. Some kits just handle/last better than other kits. I replaced the threaded braces as I think they are weak IMO. Thanks you for your opinion though.

Jon

IMO, for about $450 for a new Pro-R you still have to do a ton of upgrades to make it competitive. The LSP-R comes with the same poopy rod end type braces, the steering ackerman sucks, you either have to double it up or get the king headz, the shock ends suck, you either have to buy Mugen or Kyosho shock shafts to be able to use a more durable shock end or get an aluminum end and the stupid aluminum arms only cause other more expensive and less accessible parts to break. It steered like a bitch too. Not trying to argue with you, I just felt the truck wasn't quite the racer it could be and got an awesome deal on a superior product that has proved itself well.

Also as Jon2 mentioned tell your buddy to get those braces, the King Headz are good. You can also pick up thier one peice mount. The two of those combined will keep down on chassis flex which is probably what is causing the clutch bearings to go.

sly your buddy didn't go with the prospec msr. The stock mbx5 w/msr conversion will have issues like that, but if you start with a prospec you won't have the issues your having.

The base mbx5 and the prospec are different animals. Basically the same, but different where it counts.

the only LSP I've seen not break was ones that added Revo pushrods to the center diff to the chassis and from the front bulkheads to teh chassis...it has ALOT of flex....I do agree w/ Sly's theory on ironing out the kinks...it took me almost 10 days of dragging all my crap out to the track and watching it break before I got my truggy to where it's reliable....I just wish getting the Diffs out on mine was easier.......

I see it this way, Every RC has kinks....I think w/ the exception of the prospec, 777 and XB8 buggies....they all seem to have weak spots...some peoples driving will compliment the weak spots making it break, others driving will compliment the strong points....I know a guy at mills pond that can beat most people w/ an almost bone stock T-maxx.....he's just that smooth......and he know's what he can and can't do w/ that rig.....and it always runs.....now I tore mine all up and had to replace almost every stinking part to make it work well for me......most people would rather dump the truck and find another they like better....I personally would rather invest time in figuring it out and not dump cash into a different rig....someone w/ a job like jett would probably not want to spend time on it and it's easier to cut the losses and be free.......

What's that supposed to mean fishy friend? LOL Probably if I did have the time to work on it I may have held on but living in the midwest my run time is limited and with the amount of travel I do for work, "ironing out the kinks" doesn't work either.

exactly...you seem to work (job work) alot and spending 10 days of "ironing out" the kinks. just seems you prefer that instant top shelf quality gratification....as do many others who can afford the luxury of it....no slams on you ya Tai bo taking beotch....oops, was that a slam.... :jk:
