2024 RC Themed Pumpkin Carving Contest!!

Like Michaels has life sized foam pumpkins that are carvable.

Here a sample of the foam pumpkins I’ve done in years past. I actually have a uncarved pumpkin and xtra light left over to use for the contest

I'm about to make people mad at me sigh.... i feel like using a fake pumpkin is cheating. a real pumpkin has parts that will fall off from bad slice, more resistance to a knife, they will rot as time goes by and change the look. all of these factors are breezed past with a foam pumpkin. if others are using fake pumpkins why can't i just 3d porint one thats already carved?
carving a real pumpkin is hugely different than carving a foam pumpkin.

But I look forward to seeing the carvings both from a pumpkin AND from a pumpkin.

I didn't mean to cause any rifts or make people feel bad for choosing to use a foam pumpkin. Show me what you got with em!

I like the foam because it doesn't rot, it is still a lot warmer here than other areas of the country, and once I carve a pumpkin it will be mush in a week. 3d printing would not be the same as physically carving a pumpkin. Using computer software is not the same as freehanding it. Carving foam is not really easier than a real pumpkin, other than you don't have to scoop out the guts. But I'm not speaking to you any more Mr. MAJIN MAN!!!

You didn't hurt my feelings, trust me. I went by the farmers market & real pumpkins are really expensive. My kids are grown & I couldn't see spending the $$$ for something that I'll throw in the woods in two weeks. I can keep that one forever. I have a few foam/plastic jack o lanterns I put out in October every year now that I can't carve a pumpkin with my children anymore. We use to carve 4 pumpkins every year.

Real pumpkins make great targets to shoot at.
I don't see a problem with using a foam pumpkin.
You still need to carve it.

Well seeing as how a foam pumpkin is a touchy & sensitive subject for a carving contest & I don't like to be in the middle of it, I'll delete my entry. A REAL pumpkin should be a winner for this. Happy carving!

You don't need to delete it..there is no rule saying you can't have a fake pumpkin.and leader never said you couldn't so why remove it ?

A lot of dialect & agreance about a foam pumpkin should not be allowed & the realism of a real grown pumpkin is the essence of fall & Halloween, not foam. I was essentially the only entry, besides an old photo & a brass diff cover. I gladly participated in the contest. If it's real pumpkins yall want, even though mods said foam is ok, I don't want any rift w/ a cruddy $3 DG foam pumpkin.

If the boss man says foam is OK it's good enough for me, otherwise I would be hunting down a real one. It's the participating that makes it fun. I hope you reconsider.

As of right now, I think you'll win: Mine is invalid since it was carved by a squirrel(s); like squirrels, wookies are ineligible @Chubaka ; @Doom! is gonna paint his pink, thus will certainly lose; @majin is going to some how end up breaking his into unrecognizable pieces right before he gets a picture of it.

I'ma have to take a trip to walmart.they have huge boxes filled with pumpkins all sort of sizes, any size you want for $4.99 .I'll grab a few .I always carve one with the kids maybey I'll drop it here

Meh. The rules are already in place. You spoke your mind in a none offensive way. I agree with you, by the way, but we go by the rules.
Kinda like my feelings on the ROTM contests. Are people voting because of the build or are they voting for a really nice picture?
