Off road for light bashing, crushing around the back/front yard or tearing up and down the cul du sac I live in.
A stadium truck is really not the best choice for bashing. Don't get me wrong, I
LOVE my STs, have 8 of them (all Associated, seven of them nitro). But trying to bash off-road with 2WD (whether buggy, ST or SCT) is kinda aggravating in most places. They are constantly spinning out on loose surfaces, getting stuck in ditches or on sticks, etc.
Honestly, a 4WD SCT is probably what you should be looking at. That, or a monster truck of some variety. You can get a brushless RTR 4WD SCT for under $400 from Associated, Traxxas, OFNA and others. You can also buy a kit and build it with decent electronics for similar money (such as a Durango DESC410 for $250, ~$100 for a motor/ESC combo, $50 will get you a number of take-off Radio/receiver combos).
I have an Associated Prolite, and I like it, but I also spent a lot of money making it the truck it is today. Gone are all the stock RTR electronics, stock shocks, stock hub carriers, the list goes on.
