Really, really good review. Only the good stuff....Like: this is how it drives out of the box. and it drives just fine. no mention of the box or the clear film or the little piece of black foam....Just the rig and how it crawls. None of the it could have been a better color or no bead locks or why not brushless. I appreciate that you presented the rig and showed how it crawled the way it comes. brilliant!
Thank you! I really appreciate the feedback. It has some areas that could be improved, but for what you get at that price it's an amazing rig. My previous reviews of other vehicles ...if it had poor value for money, or major shortcomings I would have said so...lol.

My first legit complaint....look at all that grease in the portals.

If you sell as RtR....maybe do a little better than this.

I am familiar with the lack of readiness most rtr vehicles have. I also think when the maker says rtr...needs nothing, even includes transmitter batteries, and then has the confidence in the platform to give a 2 year warranty they should care if the components have grease or not.

Sounds like you are really liking this rig! No regrets?
If we're talking straight value for money....I would give $300 for this rig every time. You can see some of the places they saved money to hit that number, but nothing that is actually bad. The shocks are the same as the scx10 pro, just plastic body instead of aluminum. The rims are glue on 1 piece, but the stock tires and 2 stage foams do a really good job. The extra gears supplied are for trans so you have the option to run straight axles instead if you want. Trans is dig ready if you buy the parts. Radio is only 2 channel, but it's probably my favorite rtr radio. Same 1 came with my fury, still using it.
So yeah...no regrets.

Called the lhs today. Looks like I will have no problem getting involved with this comp. Fairly informal, sorrca rules light is what it sounds like. Run by a local club on the property. I guess they aren't getting super involved with things like scale points etc. Basic classes for 1.9 and 2.2 with gates and times. Sounds like a perfect entry level way to get my feet wet in this format. Still plan to do my practice and upgrades to make an honest go at it. Practice should be easy. I have brought this truck out twice. Both times it was fun and relaxing. Both times I ran the batteries I brought flat. About 3.5 hours of crawling and trailing each. A lot of my other stuff it's a lot more challenging to get that kind of time in due to track availability etc. I don't have a lot of interest in racing with what I can't consistently practice and tune to feel like I am making the effort. This is different, in a very good way.

You can see in the video I had the whole thing to myself the whole time. That's often the way unless I bring someone with me
I can't say that I would hate that. 😜
