What you're talking about is 1983. There were no 1983 Corvettes sold, however there is one sitting in the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green KY. It was not made until later out of a prototype chassy and mostly a 1984 body. But it offically IS a 1983 Corvette. Therefore, the Corvette is the longest consectutive production car ever.:p

yeah well about the museum in bowling green ....i meant by them not making the vette...not selling them.

Fett, your a little late on that one bud, next time read ALL the posts, especially post # 18 :D

Yea, but the point is that there was no year that none were made. That was the question

"can someone tell me the only year since production started that they didnt make a corvette?

The answer is none!:smart:

If that is your thinking, then do you count the Mako? what about all the other prototypes that never made it to production. There was no true 1983 Corvette. If they built a frankenstein out of scrap parts , only made one and put it in a museum, it was merely for the sole purpose of saying they have the longest running production car. I love corvettes, but there was no true 1983 Corvette. Sorry

There were actually 44 1983 Corvettes made. There's only one left.

The 44 Corvettes built as pilot cars were assigned 1983 serial numbers. Of the 44 cars built, 11 were retained by the Bowling Green plant for assembly process evaluations and other tests. The remaining 33 went to engineering for crash tests and other engineering appraisals.

It was not just one "Frankenstien"

sorry.

P.S. The Mako Shark was built in 1961 and used as the inspiration for the 1963 vette. The Mako Shark II was built in 1970.

My computer's being jacked at the moment so I can't post pics, but I have this insane video of a Mitsu Lancer Evo VII drifting around a race track and then eventually flipping. It's crazy, your stomach lurches when you first see it start to lift.

I got the inspiration from that sick Yugo.:D

since no one can show me the price of the GTO no one get the pea soup.

sure the 308 might be had for about $80k, but the GTO was only turned out (according to this) 272 times. so with that being said a car with such limited production for $80K? come one !!!

here a link to more about it
http://www.dennigcars.org/models/ferrari_288.htm

heres a link to how much it costs
http://www.dennigcars.org/ferrari_market_value.htm

dude 25k is cheap for a car. 25k is unheard of for a ferarri. but its true you can get one for almost taht low.

you can barely buy a new car for that.....hmm nissan maxima or ferrari ?

naw I've sat in a few and been driven in one.
there is a big difference between that an any american sports car.

I wanna drive a ferrari...btw i saw one the other day...oooh it was a red 360 modena...it was beautiful

Acutally the best riding car I've ever been in when i used to repair cars was a jag the most comfortable , most powerfull viper , quickest rever porsche , bmw nor the benz impressed me ...but theres something classic about a old muscle car

yeah i worked in a bmw shop when i was in high school. i didnt fix anythig just cleaned up and watched basically.
they got alot of cars in for repairs and lot in for trade in. the trade ins were quickly given a check point look.
so i got to ride along with the mech(my uncle) and learn to diagnose from sound and such.
i wasn't impressed at with bmw, benzo, lexus no of em. they were all stall inside and this was 10 years ago when production was lower. now you can buy a pos benzo hatchback ...rofl
