I absolutely love crawlers because there are just tons of things to customize on them. But that one doesn't look like it needs a thing. They did a great job with that one!

But seeing the pic you posted of it next to the Deadbolt, I wonder if those axles would work on an SCX24?

No, the Atlas' axles are larger and longer.

Gorgeous day here today! Got home from work and spent about a half an hour throwing cornhole. Then took out the EazyRC 1/18 Patriot.
This top heavy rigs still surprises me that it doesn't roll more easily than it looks like it should. Regardless, I still plan on adding weights to the wheels like I did the EazyRC Arizona (Jeep).

Just quit it already! It's dark by the time I get off work! :p Looks great, I'll trade you backyards. ;)
I've been working my 5:30am-2pm shift for the last 18mo, and I love it! It's great to get home and still get nearly 2hr of daylight, during the winter months.
I'm not interested in trading backyard, but you have an open invitation to come over and hang anytime 😀

@Xraycer The side hilling shot of the deadbolt is awesome!
Thanks! Yeah, that Deadbolt is a crawling beast now, with fairly minimal upgrades/modding.
That sidehilling shot really surprised and impressed me. Here it is from another angle.

Had a little bit of daylight left, when I got home from work, on this overcast day. Also got a coating of snow during the overnight.
Went out first with the blue FMS Atlas, but that didn't last long. The steering servo crapped out by the time I got out back to the pond course. So, I went back into the house and grabbed the new green Deadbolt.
The green Bolt is now wearing the stock wheels/tires from the 1/18 EazyRC Glacier Chevy. Both tires are just about the same dimensions, but the Glacier tires are softer and have larger lugs. With only brass hex extensions, and no additional weights, its running exceptionally well. Even while crawling with snow covered tires.
Next up, SCX24 Chevy C10. This new rig is completely stock. With smaller, less aggressive tires, the C10 did ok on the mostly snow covered pond course.
Last crawl of the evening was with the red FMS Atlas. By this time, it was completely dark. I ran the very capable Atlas only by it's front headlights. This makes for a challenging and fun course run!

I am so jealous! The wife told me no when I suggested filling in the pool and building a crawler course!
OMG that would be such a kickbutt rock quarry!
I agree, I am jealous as a mo fo myself.
I've already seen what you can do with railroad modeling and popsicle sticks. I've no doubt your future crawl course will be sweet!

Jan1st 2022- A new beginning, going to try to get out and play more this year. :)

Today was a beautiful day, 52°F and sunny. I was supposed to Fly my RC planes today but left my batteries on the kitchen table. DOH!

Fortunately El Diablo (My Element Sendero HD) came along for the ride today, so things weren't a total loss. When my buddies were done flying I stopped at the other end at a field where we fly.

There are about 20 piles of dirt and stuff from construction further down field. I call this location "The Mounds". I should have taken a shot of the field, looks like a bunch of giant ant hills.

The mounds have been problematic as they are loose dirt and very difficult to climb. I thought since we have had rain recently I would give them a try again, hoping that the rain might have packed it down a bit.

There are some really nice lines, but traction just isn't happening. The rain helped a bit, and a bunch of weeds popped up which helped a little more, but it's still just to loose packed. I did get a few good runs but for the most part it is not crawler friendly.

I have an urge to take a couple of bags of quickcrete out there an sprinkle it on the mounds before the next rain. :p I had to give up my efforts today when I killed my steering servo. I've got to get out and find some new places.

Good for you @Doom!

I like your new year resolution! I'm gonna guess you brought out the new jet. I hate forgetting a piece(s) of essential gear when you get to you finally get to your destination. Once, last year, I had to make 2 trips back. First time, had to go home for the tx, and then a second time to get the SCXiii Jeep's body clips 😠 The only reason I was willing to do this twice was becausei was only 5 minutes from home.

I really need to give the 1/10 Pepboys some love and attention. I've be so preoccupied and obsessed with those micros.
