Hey guys,

Thought you might enjoy this. This weekend I came down with some sort of flu and woke up feeling like I was running a temp. Well being the bachelor that I am I had no thermometer. So I happen to look down at my pile of RC stuff and saw my Ofna IR temp gauge. Well I stuck that thing up to my ear and pushed the button, and sure enough.... I was running a temp of 102.3. Pretty neat. Just thought I would share for those of you who find you are in need of a thermometer when none are available. The temp gauge seemed to work great... although I might have increased my chance of brain cancer. :hammer:

Whew I thought you were going to say I stuck that thing up my .......

I use mine to cook my meats, I make perfect medium rare steak everytime now.

LOL... Good God I am glad I didn't have to go there...... Cooking meats.. that's not a bad idea either..... We should start another forum based on the many uses of an IR temp gauge. :)

Last summer I used my more to check the temps in the pool than I did with my Rc's..lol.. I also did the self therm. with it to, but didnt know how accurate it was cuz it did different numbers all the time.. But yeah, these things are handy

colege maintanence used to use one to see if the ac was workign right theres had a laser patern you could use and whatever it was on that was temp it read

I use mine to cheack all kinds of things like how hot/cold my AC is things like that also to take the temp of my animals cages

I use it to check variances of the asphalt temp when I race before each heat and main.

My father in law uses them to check brakes on 1:1 cars to see if one might be dragging and heating up hotter than the others.Works really well lol

Sound like I could have used one about an hour ago I made burgers on the grill :)

My dad uses it to make shure the oven thermostat worked when we got a new oven. While we are talking about temp guns...
The orange ofna one says it has a laser but i can't get mine to work. Do you have to install a secound battery?

I've recently used mine to see how accurate the thermostat is in my electric griddle. It also shows hot and cool spots too.

I only use the IR temp gauge on my meat. The meat probe caused me great discomfort.
