Man, your bent shock brings back a memory:

when my dad and i first started R/c-ing, we started with electric cars. my dad's car was slightly faster than mine, but anyway i drove my car to the top of the hill where our street is and i started to come down. my dad is coming up. by some unknown forces of nature, the two cars were attracted to each other until a very freaky collision occured. After the collision, we each drove our cars down to where we were standing and check for damage. I had trouble getting the car down the hill in the first place. when i took my body off, i couldn't beleive it, my left front shock was bent almost completely in half and the lower rod end had come off the ball end.

To fix a bent shock, the only thing that needs fixing is the shaft. use pliers to bent it while the shaft is in a vise grip.

Hope the story was funny, and the tips helpful.

Yeah I was toying with the idea of just bending it back but I figured i would never really be able to get it back to perfectly straight again no matter what so I upgraded to the 3.5mm shocks from the KanaiII.

The way i look at it is if it dont break it stays...it if does, it gets upgraded to a better part so it wont break again.

We didn't get my shock back to straight but we had to keep it on anyway because we didn't know where to get replacement parts. Since then i have dismantled the entire car, saving the screws for use as spares on my Nitro RS4 3 Type SS. I gave those shock assemblys (w/out the springs) to my dad who is planning to use them to replace his monster truck springs. The truck did not come with oil-filled shocks, so that's why i'm giving them to him, all he has to do is get a bottle of oil, replace each of my shafts with one of his long truck ones. That should do it.
