Just got a used xxx nt with a 15 mach in it. the engine is junk and want to replace with a great engine, but am unsure what will work with it. I am new to the game of replacing engines, but not new to nitro. I am wondering what crank is required for the stock clutching, or maybe I should replace the whole works with a great set-up. anyone with knowledge in this, I would really appreciate your ideas.
Thanks

Do you race or bash? If you race, you will want to stick with a .12... if you bash, go with an OS 18 cv-r(x) with a standard shaft. It should bolt right in. The clutch is pretty good in the xxx-nt as it is. The rig is only 2wd anyway, so any more power that you get to the tires than with the stock clutch will probably cause excessive spinning out.

I do race, but we have no motor limit other than small block. I was thinking of getting an os 18, but another guy at our track has one and it is way more than is needed. I tore it all down and the clutch is shot anyway, so I will need all new clutches and the works, any further ideas?
Thanks

I'm looking to replace a low compresion engine in my Losi XXX, so let me know if you want to get rid of the 15 mach you have.

I didn't think there was such a thing as to much power! ;)

The only reason I mentioned it as I had the OS 15 cv-r(x) and it ran solid for 10 gallons at least (8 gallons of me and a few of it's latest owner).

I have an OS 18 cv-r(x) in a drawer just waiting for me to get something 1/10 scale again to put it in... I figure the 18 cv-r will be a long lasting stable engine like the 15.

Check the forsale section.
I have an O.S. .15 cv maxx for sale cheap.
If your interested

I ordered an OS cvrx 18 yesterday. Should be fun. :smoke: $95 from tower once you take off the $15 for ordering over $150 in stuff.
This sport sure gets expensive--but it sure is fun to spank your buddies at the track!!

In my opinion it is somewhat low on compression, I have another that has around 8 tanks of fuel thru it, and is very tight, This one starts and runs fine, has fair compression, but I think is getting tired also. Up to you, make me an offer! No clutching in with deal, just motor.

It has 8 tanks and is getting tired??? What do you do to your engines?!?!?!

I meant the one that I am replacing, I have no idea how many tanks are through it, I bought the truck used, and have decided to replace the engine, The newer one is just fine. I know--it did not make any sense how I wrote that out!! :hammer:

well can all that power all be put to the ground? you can only use what you can put down
