I have not ran that buggy, but I have owned the first XTM buggy. It was a tank, never broke that thing. Didn't handle that great. From what I read at the globalhobby forum, the new buggy is just as stong, but handles better. The 24.7 engine it comes with is great, good power and easy to tune. If your looking for a beginner buggy, I think the XT2 would be a great choice.

Yes, 1/8 buggies are single speed. The XT2 will still hit nearly 40 mph tho, you won't need a 2-speed.

I have 2 XT2's (ones my sons actually) and we love them. I'm no racer by any means but if you check out racernine.com, he runs the XT2 as well. Great buggy for the price IMO.

Got my xt2 yeasterday and I am extremely happy. You are right this thing is a tank. It also handles great. I was at the track for a while getting some practice before the races started and I was hangin with some of the more experienced. My buddy has an 8ight and he isn't the best driver but he get's around the track pretty good and I was with him all the way. I guess it's all comes down to the driver. This buggy freakin rock's.

You saidit right there. The driver is what makes a good racer. Also, having a buggy that does not break often! Glad to hear you like it, keep up updated, and where are the pics????

just bought mine. anyone else find it for 260-ish? for the price, i doubt it could be beat. hopefully all i need to upgrade is the servos and maybe down the line a radio system. but who is ever happy with an RTR radio?

friday can't come soon enough. :D I'll let you guys know what I think, and get lots of pictures, since there doesn't seem to be too many out there.

Oh yes, it came today.

Soooo happy. But, it didn't come with the threaded shocks? Weird. Also, everything's already loctited?

I called hobby people about it, but I wasn't able to get through. Either way though, still cool. I'm sure it'll be ironed out

breaking it in makes me want to just turn in the needle a bit till it stops cutting out, but I won't, b/c I'm nice. haha, I'm to the point where i can go about half throttle without it cutting out....

getting there i guess. GAH! Full throttle cannot come soon enough!

oh, i like this smiley: :post_count1:

Hmmm I thought they had threaded shocks....odd. Even without them, its still a great value.

yea, i'm lovin it. :celebrate:

except for one thing broken, since it was quite cold.

WING SHATTERED. haha, needless to say my trigger finger may be a little happy over the jumps, and being new definitely had a part to play. but that's the only problem after about 10 tanks. unlike reviews, the tires are holding up great, even with me trying to destroy them on the pavement.

few questions though.
1. wing recommendations? Do they all have universal fitment? Or, should I just go with the stock one again?
2. Body. Can I get a crowd pleazer or anything?

thanks...

Id try the new proline wing, looks really good. Bodies, I'm not sure. I had that same problem with my Xterm Pro, never found a new body, but I'm sure some fit. You just gotta find the right one lol

Got a JCONCEPTS wing for 16 bucks. works great. it even got pummeled into the ground here enough to cut out a chunk. and in the winter here, that ground is really freakin hard. works good enough for me.

Yeah the XTM wings are pretty cheap. I used the Proline wing and boiled it for about 10 minutes. So far I've beaten the crud out of it and it's still in one piece. As for the threaded shocks, both my XT2's have the threaded aluminum shocks. And, my neighbor and another buddy of mine bought one and his had them too. Kind of strange that your's didn't come with them though. I would try to post at global hobby's forum and ask them. There are several threads in there for that same problem. I had my buggy smokin a Hyper 8 with a V-Spec in it the other day. Also beating out some CRT's..LMAO greatest expression in the world when people find out it's all stock but the tires. Then again like everyone says, it's all about the driver.
