xs3 and reciver help

i have a xs3 and the synthesized reciver that came with it is too big to fit in my reciverbox. i was wondering if i could buy a smaller reciver like a novak xxL and just use a jr crystal with it. Basically i want to know if you can use a non synthesized reciver with a synthesized transmitter.

yes u can, but novak makes a syth reciver too.. what kinda car is this going in ?

i had the same radio (i have a 3pk now) and a mbx5, and the Rx fits in there lil snug but it does fit in there, i had it facing so when u opened the lid, the freq adjusters were facing up toward ya

what u wanna do it try and find some really thin foam tape to help asorb some of the vibrations too - i used thin doubleside 3m foam tape..
