*sniffle* this is cool, razorback and i have Xray buddys now. soon we will convert everyone on RCNT to Xrays.

Hay!
Thats my buggy!
It is a sweet build. Smooth.
I have made one mistake so far in my build. I was watching TV instead of watching what I was doing. On the upper suspension arms, I had a hell of a time getting the turnbuckles threaded threaded. The ball ends are pre threaded both left and right handed and should go on easy. I installed the turnbuckles backward on the rear. Had a hell of a time screwing them in and it didn't dawn on me until I started on the front set. Just thought I would pass it on.

<----smiles silently awaiting his xb8....(while wiping his drool from seeing these pics)

fasteddy....thanks for putting the build up on here...it should help me and alot of others out bigtime....

so, what motor is everyone running in thier Xray's. I've got a V-spec, Eddy will be running a VZ-B, i forget what razorback runs, how about you Nitro 21?

Here is the combo I will be using... I also just bought a JP-1 so that I would have a pipe for the low-end.

Rb Ws7II with Ofna 086

wouldnt worry about a pipe for the low end on an rbws7II, they dont really have any, :), rb take novas older tech and rework it, the rb has basically road porting and timing, so it has a ton of top end power but very little down low, in fact the best way to get good performance out of them is to put a werks clutch on them so you can adjust your clutch to release later, dont sacrifice the top end on the rb for low down cause you wont get much extra out of them and the biggest thing with these motors is there blindingly fast up high.

My 2 cents

Been lurking a little, here is a Pict of my baby...its almost done :)

WS7II's no low end, come on they got tons. You have to run them really fat on the bottom and lean on the top--once cleared out they will scream and hold temps around 200-220. I got a WS7 and WS7II, wouldnt get rid of them for nothing.

Anyway here she is:

Welcome to RCNT
Glad to have you here.

I'm jealous!
I want to just dig in and build mine.
Taking photos and posting everything take a long time.
I just want to race.

dont think about it that way Eddy, you doing this for everyones benefit. ill go take mine out today if it makes you feel any better.

oh yeah, guys, just an fyi. one nice bonus about having a laydown front servo. is that you can mount an onboard temp guage right on top of it. i have mine there with the temp lead running back the radio tray to the inside of the throttle servo and then up to the engine head. i zip tied the lead in place so it can't get caught in the spur gear. I've never owned one before i put it on this buggy, but it sure does continue the "luxury" theme well. it makes for a handy tuning aid so all you have to carry with you is your radio and a screwdriver, which i keep velcro'd to my radio anyway.

its also nice to keep track of your expensive race motors temp in race conditions, i went with a venom so i have highest temp recall. i wouldnt tune buy it, but if my motor ever hits like 280* you better belive i want to know about it and will richen it up.

Hey Eddy,
I'll have time to put my XB8 together tomorrow night, so if you're down for a little trip , we can both do the "virgin" race this saturday at Delta rc .. ...
offroad ,, 1/8th scale,,,,
I haven't run 1/8th scale in a month or so it seems like....

Let me know it'd be cool to have 2 of them at the track at the same time,,,ooh-la-la...
if you dont have the cellie # , pm me....

*grin*

I didn't have a lot of free time today but did manage to build the front and rear suspension and mount it to the chassis. I can't believe how easy this kit is going together, not one problem so far.

you are preaching to someone the owns 3 or 4 of these motors, and no they dont have bottom end compaired to a 421b novarossi, yes they do have a bit down low but not alot and theres no point in trying to boost it cause the porting doesn't really allow for low end grunt, trust me on this the rb has not got alot of balls down low, you maybe thinking that down low grunt is actually once wheels start spinning and the mill actually starts to get up in revs like about 20000rpm

SOunds fair Mike! AS I have only owned RB .21's (2) so I dont have alot of feel for any other motor out there, but to "me" it has enough. I would hate to see a motor that has tons of bottom end:)

the 421b nova is insane, lacks real awesome top end like the rbs but has almost uncontrollable bottom end power, still good top end but an rb will pull away a bit down a straight, think i preferre the rbs, there just a little smother to drive

Now I'm really mad!
My social director has made other plans for me this weekend. I WANT TO RACE!
If it continues to rain I wont feel so bad for myself but thats selfish.

Imbroken,
You know I have an extra room here with your name on it as well as an extra RC parking spot in the garage. Any time Man, any time!

The RC track is about an hour and a half away. Its a bit far but at least we have one thats open close to year round. They actually have 2 tracks. A large one for summer time and a smaller covered one for the winter.
