what should be the best choose now ???

the x1-cr drives with the best now and seems easier to tune ....

how is it easier to tune than the Xray....the Xray has more tuning options than any other buggy from what I understand...I love the xray but parts availability is rough sometimes..it's feast or famine.....OFNA??? good buggy but not even close to the xray in craftsmanship.....

I'd say xray ALL THE WAY. BUT xray has just increased their parts costs and they are now hard to get. Not sure if ofna has put out alot of their parts to hobyshops or not, but if i were to get either, i'd say the X1-CR. I know the Xray is a lot better and lighter (crazy light), but when you practice for the big race this weekend (any time) and you break that 1 part, your gonna be in deep s**t...

i dont know what you guys are looking for that you havent found. it doesn't matter what part i break in can always have a new one at my door within a week. and i carry enough spares to repair from a few major hits on the same day. however I've only ever broken 5 parts on the buggy in over 2 gallons.

XRAY has parts disributers ALL over the place, just got look very little, sometimes easier than other manuf. out there

XB8 all the way awesome car!

Oh yea XRAY is opening up there own store now>>XRAY SHOP

None of my local hobby shops carry Xray. I have 3 of them pretty close to me and they don't carry any of their parts. I could go strictly online, but I prefer not too. Hence, I got a Mugen.

the jammin buggy is really nice....

the xray is awsome...i used to own one....

but if your gonna spend the money for a high end buggy....

go mugen mbx5.....

the parts availability is Never an issue....and there is more stuff available from aftermarket companies than you could ever want....

i know the xray is 'supposed" to come with everything you need...but i dumped extra right off the bat with kingheadz stuff...blah blah blah....

go MUGEN....its just much more simple....and both cars are equal on the track....assuming you know how to properly setup a car and all

just my 2 cents worth....and i know mikeburgin is prolly gonna ream me a new one when he reads this....after all the flack i gave him about my xray against his mugen....

lol....sorry mike....you were right and i was wrong....ROFLMAO....THERE I SAID IT....HEHEHEHEHEHE

I no pro but personally don't notice a huge difference between the XB8 and MBX-5.....the only place I notice ANY is in the air....the XB8 just flies perfect every time...it seems like it's got a gyro system or something sometimes.....not saying the mugen is a brick but I did have to "drive" it more in the air.....after seeing the prices on the Hudy steel drive shafts, I think I'm going mugen in the near future I'm sure.....

Husky all I can say is, "at Least you have now seen the light" mugen is one of the most proven cars on and off road, the only bad report you will find on a mugen, is generally by someone that hasnt got one, rivalry between the top line cars and there drivers, noone wants to admit that theres a better car out there than the one they own, kinda makes them look silly if they just spent all that money and its not on the best. dont get me wrong I'm not saying that mugen is the only car worth having but i am saying if its the only car you have it should be mugen!!!!!!!!

Plaid as far as air time goes, thats great that your xb8 flyes great and level and high, but when I'm on the power powering away from you cause I'm already on the ground and on the throttle does a airplane prop come out the front so you can keep up LOL

No but I have tried to do that pass over on the triple and came close....give me a little more time and I'll have it down....

Mike, that XB8 is flying OVER your mugen in the air dont forget...LOL

Mugen seems to be the car everyody wants to own
or regrets not to drive , if driving another brand right now
it is already a mit

as to the xb8, I really don't like the bit of play there is in between suspensionarms and wheel uprights front and rear, I mean you can see moving the suspensions around when rocking them by hand, as to the not so easy to tune note: it did take 6 months to find the 5/5/5 diff combination to work before some people wern't that happy first

the x1-cr seems to be a good driving winner from the start,
examining results, one notices beginners from the start are having exceptional results and advanced get swiftly into the finals
it has also real driveshafts all over, a Z-torquebar, metal clutch, milled towers, good on/off power steering, optional 1piece motormount and c-clipsless susp.pins, all this at a low price
but had problems with first tanks, towers and clutchsprings breaking, original motormount loosening problems, front lower t-shape suspension kingpins breaking apart due to play between hubadapter and arms

Where did you see the suspension parts moving other than where they are supposed to???? mine is rock solid and I use 3-7-1 or 5-9-2 in my diffs.....it sticks to the round like glue and whoops ass on the rythm sections.....I think you was lookin at a busted or not properly built model there buddy......as for the X1 I think it's a nice car....not in the same leauge as Mugen/Kyosho or Xray...but still a fun buggy to run.......

Plaid, I dont know what hes talking about either?

Anyway have you tries 5/5/5--give that a shot, the buggy is very planted with that set up in the Diffs! Give it a shot and report back after a few tanks...

I dunno I like the set up I have but Ineed to rebuild my diffs tonite anyway....I just had another engine defect and it's really pissing me off...I think I'm gonna bit the bullet monday and get me a V-spec or P5....not sure wich yet...but as far as how my car handles...it's awsome....I like it better than the mugens I've tried...but the availability on parts is turning into a big suck fest right now.....

what parts do you need plaid, if i dont have it, i can probibly find you one.

I guess it's not availability it's the immediate availabilty issue for me...I can order any part and it will be there in about 5 days....the mugen stuff is just fully stocked all th etime at my lHS....they aren't getting a lot of people breaking XB8s (which is a good sign) so they don't know what to keep in stock.....I have the essentials like arms and front tower and some of the linkage parts but I always seem to break stuff that I don't have or the store is out of stock on.....thanks for the offer man..I might ask you for something one day if you don't mind....same for you if you have problems getting stuff......I was thinking of just buying a new Xray for a parts box....I know it would be cheaper than buying 1 part at a time....hell the cvds are 45 a peice...each corner...45x6=280 bucks right there chassis 100 towers 65 for both....than all the other miscellaneous hudy spring turnbuckles and ball links......

parts to keep in stock are:

front arms
rear arms
camber links front and rear
rear hubs
front C hubs
front knuckles
turnbuckles, especially front uppers
front upper inner arms

i keep that stuff and a few others in my pitbox all the time, since I've done that, I've never ended a day early. i havent broken everything on that list, but some of it. a lot of it is plastic parts which are pretty cheap anyway. the arms are around $5 i think, camber links are under $3, hubs are like $6. so its not a lot of high $$$ items.

I calculated if I want a jammin with the specs of the xb8
I have to pay for cnc antisquat plates, toe-in plates, front susp. B holders, 1piece motormount, milled radioplate and wing posts, suspension pins with nylstops, new mugen clutch springs, perhaps a new tank....
seems almost getting at the same price anyway
same with other brands infact....

but if I would buy now I would go though for the X1CR
because seems as planted as a xb8, is cheaper never the less
