I bought a new X Max 8S a couple of months ago and I’m currently in the process of putting a hobby wing 56118-1100 KV motor into it along with the max five g2 ESC. Both of those will be mounted on an M2C racing motor mount/ESC mount. It’s got the wide max suspension on it and I’m running pro line trencher tires. I bought aluminum bulkhead for front and rear, and also the aluminum diff covers for front and rear and for the center gear. So far for gearing I’m thinking about putting in the GPM 1.5 mod 20/35 gearing. I’m just in the process of my initial teardown and I’ve got the shims to shim the diffs on each end. I plan on putting 30,000 in the rear, 20,000 in the front, and 20 million in the center diff.

And I’ve also got his little brother to bash around in the meantime… like I say, I’m just in the initial teardown stage. I bought the titanium shock rods to redo the shocks, the aluminum shock caps for the tops of the GTX shocks, and a gensacearespammers d1000+ charger… also two gensacearespammers 11,000 MAH 100C batteries for this beast. While I was on the perfect pass website buying the 80 kg monster servo for this truck I started looking around and ended up also buying their soldering station for the QS8 connectors that I’m going to have to use to put on my batteries and then make small jumpers from qs8 to xt 60… I’m running huge pro line trencher tires with the bead locks. I received all the stuff from M2C racing yesterday and it looks really nice. I also bought their battery tray upgrade that has a carbon fiber board that sits under the battery tray on each side and then you drill it through to an aluminum plate with a small pad and the plate has grooves in it that you can put Velcro straps under and get rid of the clip on normal battery holder that is on the X Maxx. This beast is gonna be heavy when I get done; I’m estimating about 35 pounds all told…this huge beer can motor is heavy… i’m having fun and when I get done, this thing should really haul

butt. So far I’m planning on the GPM 1.5 mod 35/20 gearing. I’m just hoping that’s not too tall of gearing for this motor and set up.

Everyone says this flysky radio feels cheap in the hand, but I don’t believe it feels any cheaper than the stock Traxxas radio. For the money, I don’t think you’ll find a better seven channel radio. The reviews also say that these are some of the heaviest tires that you can buy, I can believe that these things are massive.

What is the arespammers thing every time I write the brand-name gensacearespammers?

I find the Xmaxx and XRT are great. Stock motor and upgraded ESC is plenty. Upgraded motor and ESC is going extreme. MAX5 or MAX6 or Castle or XC. All decent prices. New is the way to go unless someone just got one and used it once and its a steal.

Thanks for the info. I went ahead and picked up a new one. The initial sticker shock is tough, but that faded away quickly this weekend when I was bashing with the new x maxx!
Are there any pros and cons to different ECS's for the x maxx? There are quite a few choices. I'm just not sure what to go with when the time comes. Thanks for your help!
