I got this off of eBay during a bid. The guy listed it as 4/5 stars, which is suppose to be excellent (It even said in the ad). So when I got it, it might just be me but this doesn't look cosmetically excellent.

What'ya think? I'm asking if I could return it, so maybe I can make my self a pack :D.

I spent $40 shipped, but IMO I would've rated it a 3. The top left cell looks like it might have a problem. Some of the cells have the white stuff around it, so I was thinking it might be leaking. Some I think are rusted, or just have this brown stuff on it.

the brown stuff could be flux from the soldering, but about the white, its not good try to return it as fast as possible, if you can't, clean it some sort of brush (not wire!) and sell it as soon as possible, it is a leak/corrosion.

Why would you recommend he clean it and try to hide a possible problem with it and burn someone else with a bad pack?

OMGIC, I hate to see you got stuck with a bad pack, but to burn someone else would not be the right thing to do. I would try to get my money back from the seller, and also leave the appropriate feedback if he refuses to refund the money.

In a worse case, you could always disassemble the pack and use the good cells for your glow igniter if you have nitros, and a rechargable igniter.

This is all the reason somebody needs to not buy used batteries. Who knows how they where treated. It's like putting a 200,000 mile 350 into a '69 Camaro.

Ohh, noo. I wasn't planning on selling it. I was just asking people if they would buy it from the guy that was selling it, because the seller listed it as excellent condition, but it really wasn't. I actually told the guy I wanted to keep it, but now I know the cell is leaked, I'm gonna tell the guy I'm sending it back.

Thanks all!

Also, I've learned not to EVER buy used cells again :D.

I'm totally with NC Nitro. Passing on a bad deal to somebody else is just plain wrong. Glad u feel the same, coby. One of the funnest parts of this hobby is helping others with their problems. Not making new ones. I remember startin' out. Every little bit of help, well, helps!

Yeah definitely. I'd never scam anyone, ever.

Good news! The guy will take it back :D. I just told him after inspecting it a bit there was a problem with one of the battery cells, and I told him I will be sending it back for a refund. He's cool with it.

Thanks guys!
