Should I go ahead and put this Boca front bearing in my Picco that I have or just wait until the stock bearing goes bad? Theres nothing wrong with the stock bearing and the engine is fairly new.

Also does the Picco P3 .28 use standard or turbo plugs? My understanding is that it uses standard by default but you can buy a turbo head for it. That sound about right?

What size and how many shims should I buy using on this engine running 30% nitro? It came with four 1mm shims under it (used) but I'm pretty sure it only needs 2 or 3 tops

Leave them stock until they go bad. The bearings in the P3 are really good quality Swiss made bearings. You are going to have to spend a ton to get better bearings than stock.
Second, on the plugs it depends on which button you have. I have both the standard and the Turbo head button so best just to look and see which one you happen to have. The bump start P3s from what I have seen come with the turbo head since they are more geared towards racing.
The shims....I thought mine had three. I could be wrong though and I always run 25-30% nitro. So 3-4 should be fine.

Ok cool...I was under the impression it came with 2 shims and the manual says to add a 3rd for 30% nitro but I can't find where it says 100% for sure how many shims it comes with.

I just checked... I have three shims on mine. It runs good with on 30% with that. Were you looking for the turbo head or were you going to be using the standard plugs?

The one i have has a standard plug in it and its pretty much flush with the top of the dome so I'm assuming the button head is standard too. I've never seen a turbo head so I'm not 100% sure of the difference (in the buttonheads....I know what a turbo plug looks like) and I know there a turbo head option for this engine.

I don't think so its 1mm each maybe its only .10mm
1mm is already too thick.

ok, understood. in all my nitro engine I always add .10mm shim every additional 5% nitro content what factory nitro content recommended for a certain engine, that's only in my opinion and what i am doing. I am fan of-LRP nitro engine.

They come stock with 2X0.2 and 1X0.1 for a total of .5 There is no need to add any shims to the picco, if anything you can pull the 0.1 after break-in even if your running 30%. If a standard plug will thread into the head button then it is not a turbo button, they have different threads and are different sizes and are not interchangeable.

Yeah that is right I forgot a turbo plug is a lot bigger around. I guess I am going to pull that extra shim off of mine then since it came with three on it.
