Merry Christmas everyone. Yesterday, my son noticed some of the screws on the bottom of his chassis had a little bit of rust developing. I’m sure it’s because he ran it on a wet field a few days ago and probably didn’t dry it off thoroughly even though his dad told him numerous times to do that 🙄 Aside from doing a better job drying it off, is there something else you guys do to keep the rust down on hardware should they get wet?

Spray with WD40. Let it sit on there for a few, then wipe off. For cleaning dirt I use Simple Green. You can also coat everything with a silicone lube. Scrub the tires in the sink.

Nice. Thanks much. We’ll get on that today after the frenzy of Xmas gift unwrapping subsides. I’ve been walking around the living room holding a trash bag for the last hour collecting discarded wrapping paper.

Merry Christmas!!! I hope Santa was good to you all this year! It seems like you've had a pretty good year in the "toys" dept already!

For clean up, I use a couple toothbrushes and paint brushes after I blow everything off with a compressor.
You can spray a bit of WD or cleaner on the bristles and work out dirt and water etc in screw heads. It makes dull plastic look shiny and new again too! 😎

Atleast someone is trashed today. 😆 Once a screw gets wet it's screwed. The rust is coming. Do not buy stainless steel to avoid it like I did. 😝🤪

For whatever its worth, I asked about titanium screws not long ago.
You save weight, no rust but they beat the hell out of your tools and they are VERY expensive!
12.9 screws were the recommended favorite. (they rust too! ☹️)

Oh, whatcha get?

My youngest got a new Stampede VXL 4x4 so him and little Thomas have the same truck in different colors. He’s dying to drive it. Then they got new iPads , another PS5 (they need to play in different rooms on different systems otherwise it’s total mayhem). Special PS5 controllers , Lacrosse rebounder , soccer net , plenty of clothes , V-Bucks cards , headphones , sneakers and some other stuff that I’m oblivious to. I just get to pay for it. So they did pretty good. My wife and I don’t get each other anything. We just focus on the kids and make sure everyone is taken care of. I’m now focused on a new body and paint for my MT10 and maybe a few new knives. My “Christmas” is in a couple weeks 😃

Merry Christmas man! I know you’re excited for them! Can’t wait to see “your Christmas” too!!! I’ll be contributing further to the forum here very soon finally… I do believe you’ll dig it…😎
Yes!!! I can all but guarantee that this contribution you speak of will indeed inspire me in some way 😃 Hope you and the Mrs. had a great Christmas 🎄

Thanks buddy! Hope your family had the same or better!!! 🎅 🎁

Noob question time : do Proline wheel/tire combos come “balanced”? If not , do I need to balance them myself with weights?
No, and 'need to' depends entirely on where you are on the OCD spectrum. :hehe:

I just saw something about it on YT. Just making sure when I get new wheels/tires that I don’t have to put little weights in them. I want them ready to go out of the box.
You should be fine, as long as they actually glue the tires properly. I hate buying pre-glued tires, and that seems the direction Horizon is taking Pro-Line since buying them up.

Racers balance their stuff. And you can do it with basher wheels, but not required. Just better if you do.

Does anyone know if I can sell non-RC stuff in the classifieds? Or should I stick with that other supporters section?
Woodie said that's fine, so go right ahead.

What are you trying to sell?

So we ended up getting a little Axial to zip around the house since it’s been not great to drive outside around here lately. Fun but I miss driving my MT10.
