Not the end of the world. It’s still my number one choice for 1/8 scale buggy at this moment. Tekno too but the price on the Sworkz is hard to pass up. And if it’s as good a quality as you say then it’s almost a no-brainer for me.
I’m telling you it is NOT 2wd.

I see. I’m still interested in trying out an Arrma sometime (Typhon or Kraton). I really like that Sworkz Appollo RTR buggy but I think it’s 2wd. I’d prefer 4wd if given a choice.
Since Armma’s are bashers, not a big deal to have some slop in them. I guess it’s just one of my personal peeves. I’m goofy like that, run bargain bin components and still complain about slop. Don’t mind me😛

So it is 2WD?

Or it isn't? :ninja:

Are you just trying to confuse us?

:celebrate:
You trolling? 🤣🤷🏻‍♂️

Haven’t said anything to support the Sworkz Apollo being anything other than the 4wd buggy that it is. It’s got a center diff-which I said right off the bat.. Also that I’d never have recommended anything 2wd.. Also, I posted a fair amount of photos… Front driveshafts, center diff, etc… And we are comparing 1/8 off-road buggies… I cannot remember the last time I saw a 2wd 1/8 off-road ANYthing, lol..

Buuuuuuuuut…. Just in case:

The Sworkz Apollo 1/8 Brushless RTR buggy IS 4wd. It has a center diff. It has a front diff. It has a front center driveshaft. It has front drive axles. It is in the 1/8 4wd off-road buggy class, and utilizes a brushless, electric setup.

So is it 4wd or not? Just answer the question already.

Hahaha , kidding. I didn’t see it say 4wd in the Sworkz page you posted. So I wasn’t sure.

Futaba, boy that takes me back. Only ever had one, Magnum Jr. AM crystal, 6' antenna, LOL. Still got that sucker! Never even considered a $400 radio, not once. To each their own of course.
I'm very content with the TC Torox 185 esc (Max8) and Tenshock 2200kv 4274 sensorless in my MT48. I'm into that combo for around $180. The Tenshock motor is about 13 years old. Been in several 1/8 truggies. Can't fix what ain't broke. Makes me wish I knew someone with a high dollar system so I could see what all the fuss is about. Maybe not, LOL. 🍻
i have a box of 2 stick Futaba and Attack radios and a Magnum jr.
Dunno if any would fire up still.
I have had inexpensive and expensive gear. It doesn't HAVE to be expensive to be good!
Sounds like you found some winners! 👍🏻😎
Freeplay (slop) in the arms, namely the front uppers at the inner hinge pins for the Arrma 8s an TC 6s rigs. The Arrma Kraton 8s I can move the front upper hubs fore/aft about 3-4mm, right out of the box. I see similar in all my Arrma rc's. Traxxas doesn't have as much slop. Tekno and Xray are definitely on another level in regards, though the Tekno truggy does get sloppy in the front lowers quicker than I'd hoped for. Is what it is.
Arrma uses plastic balls. Mine loosened up in minutes.
The entire suspension is floppy in my Granite 3s. At speed the Granite isn't great at turning. Dirt or pavement. Its just not responsive. I think its worse than my Granite with 2s and 2wd.
I don't know about Arrmas bigger stuff. Ppl seem to like it.

How are Arrma servos? This one comes on the Typhon. Weak?

Why do you ask? It’s an rtr grade servo and way over priced lol. For a budget replacement servo I’ve had good luck with these so far

I figured. I was just comparing the specs of some servos to the on my upgraded MT10. Different worlds. Savox seems to be a popular choice.

Do some larger RC’s require two servos?

yeah you got a good setup in the mt10, can’t really compare that to the rtr servos.

Only one or two models that I can think of that run 2 steering servos, but I haven’t been in this very long lol, others would know more. Pretty sure it’s not all that common

I don't think there's anyone here who endorses Spektrum servos, at least for surface. RTR stuff is the stuff you break when you upgrade... not really on my radar honestly. I've looked at a few. Enough to see the prices aren't good and the reviews aren't any better.
I only own one "good" servo.
I have a Reef's raw 500 which would prob be awesome in your M-T but I have yet to even plug it in. Not much to say about it other than its puuuuurdy!!!
Reefs specs are awesome and have a great rep.

Traxxas was the only brand I’ve seen it lol, add the revo too.
Yeah, the E-Maxx dates back to a time when servos weren't as powerful or quick as they are today.
