Hey Guys,

I have been out of electric for quite some time and I am a bit foggy on my connections. Would someone be able to explain to me the proper way to wire an electric setup? I am running a brushless system (Novak GTB) if that makes any difference. I just want to make sure that I am doing this correctly. Thanks in advance.

Tom

It all depends on the ESC you are using.
The manual *should* show you the recommended setup.

In general, the + wire from your ESC should go to BOTH your + post on your battery and the + post on your motor. Doesn't matter where it goes first and you can make your wire connection wherever you choose. (usually a red wire)

The - wire from your ESC goes to the - battery post only. (Usually a Black wire)

From your ESC the 3rd wire goes to your - post on the motor. (Usually a Blue wire)

If your ESC has an external Cap. There is a red and a black wire that goes to it from your ESC as well

Hope this helps.

Hey Ed.... Thanks my friend. That helps alot. I just wanted to make sure I had an idea before I started to solder things up. I will give this a shot. Thanks

Tom

What ESC are you using? BL motors and ESC's wire up different in some cases.

Thanks for the link.... It always helps to see a diagram.

He Revo... I am using the Novak GTB with the 7.5 BL

Then isn't it already pre-wired(soldered)? Mine was.

The Neo One was prewired with plugs, but the Novak came pre-hardwired.

No... mine was not hard wired. I have to solder everything myself. Not a big deal... I just want to make sure I know exactly what I am doing. I would be real unhappy if I burned up a $250 ESC.... It doesn't take much to burn one up.
