I have been involved with R/C for a long time, sold all me stuff, and m=now I am getting back into R/C. I am condsidering 3 vehicles. The T-Maxx, the Revo, and the HPI Savage. Any recomendations??

I am really suprised, the T-maxx was the most bad a$$ one back in the day. What makes the savage better?? What are the downfalls wih the T-Maxx??

Compared to the newer generation of trucks, the Maxx has developed a reputation of being a bit fragile. The Savage and Revo have shown to be more durable and less prone to disintegrating while bashing.

The T-Maxx is simply a dated design. It's a good truck, but it's just old.

I've always wanted a Revo and if I had the choice that's the route I'd go. But that's my personal preference and I tend to prefer racier vehicles.

AFTERSHOCK!! go with it, it's a lot bigger then the savage and revo and is big block and a lot cheaper. or go with the lst2, just a better version of the aftershock. Comes with JR radio system and metal servos stock and the lst2 has a really good dx3 FM system.

the revo for sure best handling and its quick and race ready

savage is a little boaty but its tough and powerful

t-maxx is old and needs way to much upgrades for it to be tough

if power is the issue for 45 bucks plus the engine you can get nice big block in the revo

Out of the box, you get a .28+ with the Savage. All the others are .15-.20's, depending on which you buy.

Plus, if you got the Savage XL, you get a 3 speed transmission standard - something no Traxxas vehicle has (to this date), offered by the factory and made to work properly.

Revo or Savage for sure. If you're going to jump it the Savage, just for ease of general bashing Revo. But dont overlook the Losi's. I have the Mega Baja (aftershock with VW body) and an LST2. I can't fault them and if you need more power, (unlikely) there are more big block optins than a Revo.
If you decide on Savage pick up an LST2 shock conversion kit for it.

Thanks for the info. I just bought the Savage X 4.6. I have not run it yet, but I am looking foreward to bashing it. After looking at all of these vehicles, I really wanted the Savage XL but it is hard to find (today, I just had to have one TODAY!!), and it is a bit pricy, but I am hoping my daughter will get hoked on Nitro R/C and down the road I will get the XL (hopefully it will be readily avaiable after a month or two) and give the X 4.6 to my daughter.

Good choice bud, enjoy. The Savage is hands down the most durable bash truck. It will be ripping wheelies before you even finish break-in.

Holly crap....you aint kidding this thing is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! Now I know why it came with the engine roll cage!! Unbelievable. I wonder if I am running it too hot, the hottest I got it to was 240. Maybe I should richen it up a bit??

240 is great

i usually run no hotter then 250 traxxas manuals say 270

i like 250..... 240 is great you could even lean it a bit
