Fair enough. I'm guessing the fun is over.

Come on Sky, we need Humboldt in here for some world class ownership. You're right about the POS engine (not doggin anyones ride). I made the mistake of getting a new 4-Tec with the .15 and it is a piece. Alot of the parts are finding their way onto my Savage (ie bearings, the rubber header and the shock springs). All because it would not handle or run worth a poop.

One other note, if you don't want folks ragging your ride, don't rag theirs. It's the two way street principle. My first Savage looked like crap and it was about worn out, but the guys here offered advice and help. Rob asked a question and this is where it's gone. Bah, do whatever you want.

I dont know what it is, but, this smiley has soooo many meanings!

Welp, Imma stickin to me guns! Its silly not to run with SOMETHING on the head. Just silly! Think about it this way, for one minute.... If you manage to snap a fin, grind off a fin or even scrape the top enough, you loose mass. That mass is what pulls the heat away. The less mass, the less cool. Pure and simple. And THAT can be scientifically proven. And plastic (whether zip ties or buttons) can easily absorb shock better than metal. That same shock could snap a head right off! Who knows, maybe that couple mm of plastic could save you more than you think.

But hey, what the hell do I know.... I'm just an overpaid bill collector lol

Don't mean to correct ya Christian, but it's actually surface area, not mass. Get a lifesaver and put it in your mouth, an ice cube works too and uses the same principle. It's kind of tasty, or cold to begin with. Crunch it up and it becomes more tasty, or cold. That's because there is more surface area to draw the sugary goodness or coldness from. If there were more fins, there would be more cooling effect, but the designers juggle the cooling effect with structural integrity (or resistance to getting fiddlesticked up).

Now go enjoy that tasty lifesaver.

:puke: My gag reflexes arent that good! What do you take me for? Some Vegas tramp?!?!? lol

Yeah, thats it! Surface space! Not to be confused with mass! Although more mass has more surface space, this is not what is meant. The more slices in that big chunk of mass the better (without having bad results on structural integrity!). But I wouldnt want less mass to start with. Yeah, thats it!

So like I was saying, use whatever it takes to protect your mass, I mean surface space lol

You can't use the small zip-ties, they rattle themselfs off. Get the bigger ones. Bigger the better. If you put the zip-ties on right you won't cut yourselfs on them. If the head it round then you can even slit fuel tubing down the side, wrap it around the head and then put on zipties to hold it in place. :redbuggy:

I see your second package arrived Christian!:smoke:

I'm gonna go put zip ties on my car in a few minutes, i never heard about that before and its a good idea. My heat sink on my GT-4 is supposedly worth $42(its still in PERFECT shape), but the cooling on it kinda sucks frankly, so I think ill get a new one and sell the old one. But before that, I'm gonna put zip ties on so it wont be worth half as much next time i crash. Also, i have extra long body posts(MINI body is very tall), and last time it flipped, it slid on those. But ill still put the ties on just in case.
