Hey guys! i just wanna say that this forum seems great!.. you guys seem so friendly and helpful and i'm really glad i joined...

i hope it don't seem strange that a female is into this hobby but i just LOVE speed.. my real car is a vw golf gti turbo,so you know what i mean!

anyway like the topic of this thread says i've had 4 bad experiences trying to get hold of a decent nitro truck... i will go into details only if you want me too..just ask lol (you know us girls we can talk forever  )

aaanyway my 5th attempt now to get a decent nitro truck, I'm looking at a savage 25 with upgraded 28 Orion BLUE BLOCK turbo ...
now I'm after something fast .. i've seen the speed of a traxxas t-max 3.3 and i would like to know if anyone knows anything about the motor i mentioned.. i honestly have tried to do research on it but can't find a thing!

i need to know most importantly is it fast.. i mean as fast or faster then a 3.3 and how is it on tuning...

any help please will be appreciated.
thanx guys!
auction ends soon so i hope i get a reply!
cheers

Acutualy its better you are a girl, there is too many guys in here!! LOL No seriously...Man or women, it dont matter in here, were all in here for one reason...R/C'ing!!!!
Cheers:cheers:

I don't know of the engine specifically, but if it's a .28, then it should have decent power. As far as fast, that depends on a lot of things. Gearing. Tires. Weight of the rig. Is it faster than a Maxx 3.3? Don't know for sure. But a Savage with a .28 sure will be a lot of fun. And Orion should be a respectable brand engine for you.

I have seen some Orion's that were just crazy on top end....not tons of torque but would spool up like a .12.......but it's a big block. I am a big fan of the LRP .28's myself.

I Decided not to go for this savage in the end..even though it only went for 117 .. i think this time i will do alot more research before i buy... i think i have decided to go for a savage but i know there are all different types, savage 25, savage x savage 4.6... so i should find out which one i want to go for first...

if any of you can recommend a good savage to me please do so.. thanks

hey. so I'm glad you didnt go with that rig as you mentioned how much it was going for. but I'm sorry to here about your bad luck. what kinda bad luck have you had? have you thought about getting a new rig? it could possibly save you alot of headaches.

Hey itsalifeworthliving ..yes i have thought of buying from new but i have no clue of running an engine in..and I've read not running it in correctly will result in a lot of problems..now i know i could get the model shop to do it for me but i am sure it would cost alot of money for them to do it ...
maybe, soon i will post a new topic about all my misfortunes with these nitro's but the main problems I've had is from the guys i buy them from not being honest about what their selling me...

at the moment i need to sort out this revo, i have to see if i can get it going but wether i end up keeping it or not i will still get a savage aswell..they are just SOOOO sexy!
and i heard the're very durable too... i also would like 2 nitro trucks so my husband and me both can bash at the same time instead of taking turns! :)

If you buy a truck new it will come with very detailed instructions on how to break in your engine. I would suggest buying a new savage x. They are tough, decent speed, and there are tons of mods you can do to them to get the high speed that you want.

and whats going on with the revo youve got?

Hi ricer55,basically about the revo.. i won an auction on ebay for a revo 3.3 installed with a picco 26 max engine... i went for this as i heard the picco's are good on tuning and fast....
after i had paid ,,the seller said he was gonna be in my area and that he could deliver it for me.. i was very pleased at this point!
so he arrives and attemps to start up the revo... first he puts his mouth to a pipe and blows then he yanked on the pull string atleast 30 times (i was trying to count) after which he snapped the string right before my eyes! i almost cried! he reassured me its not a problem and that he could send me the orginal ez start for it and all i had to do was connect it to engine and that it was a simple procedure.. so he sent it as promised.. he was very reassuring that it would work... my hubby installed everything fine,i charged all glow plugs ,batteries etc over night so that was all ok... we tried to start her up and nothing! ... so i tell the seller about it not started with the ez start now,he moaned that 'he hasnt got time for this' he also used the 'F' word over the phone.. but he said he will come and look at it on tuesday..
am i being fussy? all i wanted was a working nitro truck but he snapped the cord right infront of me :(

Thats not your fault at all... Sounds the like the guy is being an butthead...

have you checked the glowplug? Bigblock engines can be fussy. My friend has a WASP .28 and that thing never wants to start.

is the eZ start turning the engine over? are you using the eZ starts glow ignitor wire or a sperate glow ignitor?

sorry I'm not sure what you mean when you say turning the engine over.. it just makes a low sound for like 2 seconds when i press the ez start button then it stops... and about the glow plugs, its funny you should mention that because he was meant to give me 2 glow plugs but when he told me he was going to send me the ez start he then kept the big looking one for himself and gave me just the small green one.. he was meant to give me both. but i am not using the blue wire because it didnt fit over the glow starter.

You always want to keep in mind that these nitro vehicles are not really plug and play. If you are new to nitro it will take some time to get used to them. I've had nitro vehicles for over 4 years now and I'm still not very good with them. I've had a Picco before and it had A LOT of compression and I myself broke a few pullstarts because of it. But as far as just getting them started, it is not always a simple one or two pulls, air temperature, atmospheric pressure, needle settings all have a thing or two to do with how easy your vehicle will start. I wish you luck with you're truck. I bet if you did some reasearch in the engine sectin of the forum you'll find plenty of tips on how to get that baby started. Matter of fact, I think I'll go take my T-Maxx outside and see if I can get it started. I was having troubles the last time I attempted as well.

Well as far as the savage I am pretty new to the hobby also. I bought a Savage X 4.6 recently and I love it. It is fast and tuff trust me lol. I broke a upper control arm but i was bashing it pretty hard and the best part is the replacement was only 10 bucks. I love the savage I don't think I could have made a better choice. If your into bashing the savage is the way to go. They do have the 5.9 XL if you want to go bigger. I would recommend getting a new one. I got mine new. It's not that hard to break it in. As mentioned above the manual gives detailed instructions. Well good luck and welcome to the site :)

Thanx h8z2luze ,i would like a savage x 4.6 but i'm not sure if i would buy a new one, not only for the breaking in but because they cost alot.
i hope this guy can sort out my revo on tuesday... with its picco engine and single steering convertion, i bet its great to bash...

We're glad to have you with us. Whatever the story is with the Revo, even if he has problems with it, let us know. We have lots of VERY informed members who can give you the right advise.

and just another input on the savage if you buy the combo from tower they have the 3 payment plan ;) Thats what I did.

Thank you Rolex... i'll let you know what happens with it..

i dont think these guys know what you mean. there not into real cars (with the exception of me, Charliestheman, and few others). and let me tell you they might as well got the stock turbo on the GTi from some guys RC. that thing is soooo small. it only puts out about 9 1/2 Lbs of boost meanwhile the turbo in my ram is putting out 30.

anyway the guy you bought that revo off of is an ass. if you wanted speed you shouldn't have gotten a MT. my truck(wich is set up for street) only maxes out at 63.3 MPH with a 22/4(something) gear set. the record is 84.6 for MT wich is easily reached by cars.

Hey basher i had a nitro car a schumacher fusion.. was fast as anything but was too frikken fragile.. everytime i went out with it,it would break.. that's why I'm going for the big wheels now!
i tried out a t-max 3.3 and that speed is what I'm looking for ..if not a little more.
I'm glad you think the revo guys an ass cuz i was begining to think it's just me being too fussy..
