Were you running both rear chassis braces?
Coupler set screw came loose?
I have the 410SL, does that have two rear braces? Guys who been running tekno a long time said to get a shin for it. It's like $4 for a pack of them. Said it helps keep the pinion longer

Huge RC undertaking today, biggest job of the year so far..

I removed the bushings and fitted bearings in my wheelie bar wheels.. 🤣🤣🤣

I stayed indoors from the 6˚ temperatures and snow falling, so I decided to check the differentials on my Rival MT10. It was new this winter and has only had three batteries worth of run time.

As expected, all three diffs were low on lube. I used the factory-recommended 60k in the front, 100k in the center and 3k in the rear. I was pretty impressed with how easy the project was. I guess after working on my Baja Rey 2.0 last week, most everything seems easy.

Now I'm regretting that I didn't install some nice sealed ceramic bearings in the wheelie wheels... next time! ;)

Doing some paint repair work from when I took the CC-02 to Mile High Crawl Center and it took a 5' plunge off the bridges.

We have an RC Swap Meet coming up at the end of March and this dude is on the block.

"No low ballers, I know what I have!" 😜😉

Finished all the fabrication on the RJ Speed Superbird. Need some warm temperatures for paint. Next is testing and playing with gearing.

5' drop and is still operational... tested tough. Add a $25 extra charge for testing. 😉👍🤣

I got frustrated with some electronics today. I installed a set of Meus lights on my Optic, which I'm running on a 3-channel FlySky GT3B and their 3ch. receiver. I have the lights plugged into Channel 3 and use the in-line microswitch on the light set's harness to select modes and turn them on and off.

I wanted to be able to do this from the transmitter, so I bought an electronic on/off switch. When I plug it into Ch3 and plug the lights into it, nothing happens when I hit the Ch3 button on the Tx. I checked to make sure Ch3 was set to 100% end points, 0 trim, no expo, etc.

The weird thing is that when I was checking the end point settings, the switch worked (was controlled by the Ch3 button on the Tx) as long as the Tx was in the end point adjustment mode. No adjustments were needed or made but as soon as I backed out of the adjustment modes, the switch stopped responding. Curious...

I set up another receiver and radio and plugged the switch into it with some LED lights connected to its output plug. Pushing the Ch3 button on that Tx controlled the lights as intended. Maybe it's just a quirk with the GT3B's notorious firmware. No big deal... I'm sure I'll be getting a nicer and/or newer radio at some point in the near future and hopefully things will work properly with it.

Worked on the new crawler but found out there is an issue with the rear axle.
I just broke down and bought a set.
@majin was super kind enough to offer a set but I didn't have him ship them.
My new set will be here tomorrow.
Thanks again @majin , I appreciate it.

I installed a new Treal aluminum front axle and knuckles on my kit-built Vanquish H10 Optic.

I initially thought I'd only consider a Vanquish axle, but considering the Treal included the third member and had a much lower price, combined with the overwhelmingly positive reviews of the Treal, I changed my mind.

The parts looked nice and a generous hardware package was included. What wasn't included was any type of instructions. I didn't really need instructions, but I would have liked a guide to what length screws goes where. Everything went together perfectly and when I was done, I was horrified to see two bearings on the bench. The Treal axle came with two bearings but they were different sizes than the two I had left over. Hmm... this challenged my feeble brain. Turns out this was because Treal's third member had different sizes of bearings than the OEM part; those OEM bearings were the ones on the bench. Phew!

I'm pleased with it and will likely order their aluminum rear axle at some point.

One thing I didn't see mentioned in any reviews (for any brand aluminum axles) is how the increase in unsprung weight affects the suspension and handling. I know the additional low and forward weight would be helpful in crawling but I was more curious about its effect on handling in spirited trail running. Comments?
