hi everybody. i recently acquired a used 1/8th scale buggy from my sister's friend who found it left in a storage space. i have no idea what make/ model it is because i've always been into electric stadium trucks. while i couldnt pass up the deal (nitro, awsome!) i have no idea wether i can get parts for it since i dont even know what it is.

here are some pics, if anyone can identify this thing it would be much appreciated.

thanks a ton in advance

it looks to me like an on-road with big wheels on it, just doesn't have that buggy/stadium truck look to it. are the any brand names on anything that could help? like the pipe, engine, tires, etc.?

the front bumper on it also looks the the old kyosho bumper on USA-1. i dont know if it means anything, but you never know.

kind of looks like an old OFNA 1/8 scale on-road car.....look on the plastic parts for either Ho-bao or Hong-nor stamped somewhere...if it is there it's defianately an OFNA....

thanks guys...interesting...i'm at work right now but when i get out i'll do some examining and let you know what markings there are. the only ones i've found so far are on the pipe, engine and electronics, but i can't remember what they were right now, well i think the engine said Toro actualy...

okay...the reciever is a Futaba FP-R122JE AM 2 channel, the throttle/ brake servo is a Futaba S3003, and the steering servo is a Hobbico Command CS-65 High Torque servo.

the pipe says FEMCA-0515, and the engine says TORO 3.5.

the tires are pro-line road rage

i can't find any markings on any of the other parts. maybe i'll show the on-road guys and see what they think.

thanks

There's something familiar about the blue aluminum upper frame, looking down on it in the last pic.
I'm really not sure, but I think it CameFromEarth.

To me, the shocks look too long to be an on-road.

Duratrax runs Torq engines (you may not be noticing the subtleties of the Q) ... reminds me of an older duratrax.

EDIT:
Yep... pretty sure it's a duratrax Axis without a wing and with a weird rear bumper thing...

Could be an older one... but the shock towers on tower look just like yours.

These are the rear tower and top chassis plate:

Yes its a Duratrax Axis - I had one years ago - it'll have 19mm wheel hexes too. Rear bumper looks like it came from a Kyosho Landmax.

awsome, thanx alot guys. those are definately the same parts that are on it. anyone know how long ago they started making these? i guess i should do a search and see if i can still get parts. i might be asking more Qs as i try to get it running.

now that i think of it here's a question. there is'nt any switch for the electronics, are they just on when the batteries are hooked up? like i said i'm totally new to the nitro thing.

thanks again.

yes it does....I personally don't use them on my offroads..just another spot where your electronics can fail....and the rubber switch boot usually get torn up quick, then dirt gets in it and it doesn't work anyway....but if you keep it as an on road it is nice to have.....

I made a link to tower in my post that was a list of all duratrax axis parts by a search. So you can still buy stuff for it.
