Who Knows How To Make Glow Plug Igniters???

Need Help Quick!!!

I want to know if you can start an engine with something eles besides a glow plug igniter. If you can what do you use besides a glow plug igniter. Thank you very much if you can help me

What were you expecting to use? A cheap dry cell glow plug igniter can be purchased from your LHS for under $10.

No not in canada. it cost like 39 dollars and you need to also pay 15 percent tax which adds up to like 40 something dollars man!!!


I was actually hoping that you can make one yourself using some wires?????

I while it does not give a read out how much is left on the battery, I have found this glow igniter to be the most mook proof.

Yeah , You really can't make a glow igniter unless you have special items/ tools "Machines". Go buy one like EL pointed out. You will thank yourself in the long run

i had that glow driver and its now in the trash it fell 2 times and it broke get the "Hot Shot 2" its a metal one and it will withstand a few drops or it has survived my clumsiness

That's really freaking wierd. Those metal ones never took too well to sudden stops from heights like the duratrash one I linked above. I have one that's been going strong for almost 2 years and held together by duct tape but still lights my glow plug like theres no tomorrow.

My Igniter rocks.. its a Duratrax Rapid Heat, Lemme tell ya, Its a great thing to have. Check em out, There about.. 15$.. I've dropped it numerous times and have spilt things on it.. Great one

Send me your address and I have a glow ignitor that attaches to a battery. I'll send it to you for free. Just tape the wires on to a d cell battery and it will clip right on to the glow plug.

You can't get away from a glow ignitor. Either buy yourself one or go for the one that bill is offering. Do you even know how an ignitor works or how it functions?

An r/c engine works on the same principle as a diesel engine. The eat from the compression ignites the fuel (also warms up the coil in the plug). All the ignitor does is warm it up, it makes it glow red hot. Pretty much like the diesel engines, it too has a warmer that ignites the fuel. SOOOOOOOO, you gotta use a glow plug ignitor.

You wanna play with the r/c you gotta brak down and buy one, no matter how expensive it may be.

Thanx guys but i'm not sure about internet shopping because the last time i shopped on da freakin web they asked for credit card # and they took 3000 bucks from MY BANK ACCOUNT!!!! Should i really trust a stranger with me adress but thanx for the offering though.

Well it sounds like you are SOL. You will just have to pay the outrageous price at the LHS.

you can in a pinch take a Dcell battery get to pieaces.of wire solder or tape wires to each end of battrey.connect one end of wire to glow plug.ground other wire to the heat sink.this will work although tough to hold wires and pull cord.
