Hey guys, I built one of these pneumatic potato launchers the other day.... WOW It's called the Spudzooka...lol
Great fun when your R/C is down...

SpudLauncher

The plans are provided for building your own.... Enjoy...

Those things are awesome, especcialy when you use a quart of gas for fuel. Well let's just say that was the end of my fuel based spud launcher. But i want to get that Spudzooka built. it seems like a good one, and its clean since it uses air.

According to the website, at 100psi, the potato leaves the gun at between 400 - 600 mph.... lol I'll have to get pics of mine tomorrow.... I shot mine for the 2nd time yesterday, what a blast... At night, you can jam one of those light sticks in the spud to track its distance... These launchers are no joke... I opted for the more powerful, less dangerous pneumatic model myself... I also used schedule 80 PVC for the air chamber... Plastic schrapnel at 100psi would not be good...

Sure wouldnt be good, i used PVC rated at 350psi, but dosnt do much when gas explodes inside of it. Also you can make one out of metal, the hell with that plastic, saw a movie a guy made one out of aircraft steel he got at work. He shot it at 1500psi, and used a baseball as ammo. IT sounded like a Battleships cannon fireing, and test fired one through 2, 2 inch pieces of wood, never saw the ball again.

LOL.... That can't be legal... I can just see gettin pulled over with one of those in your trunk... Especially these days...

LOL cool

I made a spudzooka a while back and brought it to speech class for an assignment. This thing could break a piece of plywood in half at 30 feet. New we are talking about a potato launching out of a abs pipe. My barrel was about 4 feet long though.
