Hey y'all. I might be building an Axial SCX10 kit, and I'm gonna be putting the Proline Ford F-250 body on it. What set would look best? They're all Duratrax. I'm really leaning towards option 2. I can get option 1 as just the tires. Also, are Duratrax any good?

i have Scaler CR's i put on my Wheely King when i want to pretend i have a trail truck. i think i put them on Axial wheels. iv never done anything super technical with them so idk how good they actually work. but they do look cool and have worked on everything iv thrown at them so far.

Actually, you know, maybe I'll do number one. It depends on what I'm gonna be doing.
Anything but two I suppose. I see rwd 1:1 with treads like that. Some of these swampy places 2 feet off the road and you'll be stuck.

The snow is melting where we are, and today we were moving our trailer. My Dad was trying to pull it out with his 2wd F-350, but we had to hook up another truck and tow it out cuz the 350 was slipping.

Our work truck, 08 f250 diesel, git stuck several times on factory 10 plus. The boss put 20 somes xd wheels 10 or 12 wide on 33s nittos. Never got stuck again. Drifted in off road, spun I the mud many times even with a pallet of sod in tge bed and another pallet in the trailer. Thing was a beast.

Wait. Is that 4wd?

We get a lot of Texan transplants to Colorado and they have rigs that look like 4wd, but really only 2. And they wonder why they can't grip. C'mon man.

Rwd. No winch.
Well. There ya go.

Up here? 4wd. Proper tires. For starters. All the time. Don't even think a 2wd will work in Colorado. Yes, FWD/AWD will work. But see note on proper tires. Snow/ice and mud and stuff. Lots of folks have winter & summer tires. Cuz they're that into it. Some dealerships will actually store your tires for you. Ya. It's crazy.

Winch? Not a bad idea....If I had a giant 2wd truck. HA

You would think the Texans and Floridians would learn from the Cajuns 🤣

The snow isn't a big deal as long as you have good tires and some idea HOW to drive in snow.
4x4 in a truck is necessary if there's no weight in the back.
Highway tires are USELESS in snow. 🙄
All those monster trucks in the mud will need skis for up here too! 🤣
Poor quad got hammered tho. ☹️
