should i buy my savage that i plan on gettiong very soon online or at my lhs? i have access to a very good one less than 20 minutes away and i can't find and online shops that sell for more than 5 bucks less then my lhs

Look at it this way. If you go in and support your lhs, then your contributing to the fact that he might be there on down the road to support you, as in he'll still be in business. While in most cases, these guys don't make much on the kits to begin with, 5 bucks isn't much anyway. You also have to figure shipping costs. My feelings are to always support the local guy even if it costs you a buck or two. If you have to pursue other avenue's, forum sponsors or series sponsors are the best route. I run the RC ProSeries and while my lhs can't always get the parts I need or things I want to keep in my pitbox I buy alot from Amain because they do sponsor the series, I also hit the other guys that show up at the tracks for the proseries races in 7 x 14 trailers.

Tower hobbies is a good place to buy from as well. The always do some sort of $10-40 off offers when you buy certian $$$ amounts. If it it only a matter of a few dollars, your LHS is a great place to go.
I bought my 1st hobby-grade RC from a LHS(Hobbytown). I was out at work near there breaking it in when my battery for the EZ start died. I went into the LHS and asked if they could "demo" a quick charger for me to charge my battery. They did and I was off to finish my break-in. If I had not just dropped $350 with them i'm sure they would have told me to go pound sand when I asked them to charge a battery.

cheaper to buy at your hobby shop......if even its 5$ cheaper online there is about a 20$ + or - and then theres the wait for it to arive at your door (seems to take forever).....a + buying at the hobby shop is you get it then and if you need help with setup or tuning they will usually do it for free the first time or 2.....and a good hobby shop suported by a good customer will throw in the ocasional discount or freebee to show apreceation for the buyer.....hobbytown in tyler not only gives the discount for every purchase you make with the hobbycard, they also give tickets for 5$ off your next purchase for every 50$ you spend.....

yes i have 2 hobytowns really close, one slightly bigger then the other. so if they give discounts for certain amounts you spend, and ill need a battery and charger for my savage, how big a discount do you think i could get?

Here's a little advice. You come in and your buying a whole setup (rtr truck, batteries, fuel, misc tools, charger) I'm gonna knock something off or throw something in the deal. If you come in and ask me for discounts or free stuff, well you either won't get it or you won't get much of nothing. pursue it like you looking to buy the complete package of everything you'll need.

ok thanks

are the prices at online places including tax or no tax?
