Is it brand new? Some engines just dont like to run w/o the ignitor on, when there new and being broke in?? If it's not new, then it's probably either the glow plug, or your tune is too rich or both.. So, if it's new, see if it'll run w/o the ingintor "after" your done with the 2nd tank/stage of breakin.. If it's not new and this just started happening, l'd try a new glow plug first, and then if needed, set all the needles back to the stock settings, and retune it from there..

The plug could indeed be bad, I have had this happen to me more than once. Ran fine with the igniter on it, as soon as I took the igniter off it died, replaced the plug and everything was good.

You're absolutely right, but I have the impression this truck is brand new, in which case it's probably too rich.

So what's the word, White_soldier? New or used?

Hi folks, I'm new to your forum but have been racing for a few years.

Its used

My LOSI 1/8 LST/AFT has this problem. I didn't have any new glow plugs so I used three different old ones. They all seemed relatively hot when I tested them. Still when I removed igniter I get instant stall. Last time I ran the truck I was at a lower altitude and I believe I enriched the HSN and the LSN but I've been messing around with it for an hour and can't get it to run without igniter as a matter a fact after going back to factory settings I can't get it running at all...lol. I ran it last at sea level and humid about a month ago now I'm at 4500 ft high desert and dry. Did pinch test while it ran (today) and got immediate stall.

My brain cramped up and I started looking for tutes and a good forum to post on. Glad to be here.
Thanks a bunch :)

Help help lolz
Your engine is way to rich and when you pull the battery off it stalls. Start it up and screw the idle screw in a 8Th turn clock wise, it should star clearing the engine up and pick up rpm. Hope This helps

:angry:I have a brand new Exceed Forza buggy, the other day I decided to take it out of the box and start it up. When I pulled the air filter off and worked the throttle, the carb was only opening less than half way. I adjusted that, and also the brakes where slightly on from stop, so I had to adjust that also. The receiver had no wire to run through for the radio pick up. It was hanging by one little line and broke. The body had no holes drilled for the radio wire and the body was not notched to clear the front turning arms and the body sit crooked on the chassis, it's warped. Anyway I started up the engine and let it idle, it was running OK then after about 40 seconds latter I started smelling something. I looked down at the front of the engine and the clutch "out side coupling" was starting to turn blue and smoking. So I quickly pulled the air filter and placed my thumb over the carburetor and killed the engine. I packed it all back up, called the store and got a RMA number and sent it back to the supplier for a replacement. Out of all my years with RC nitro cars and planes, helicopters, I have never had a lemon till I got this buggy.:(

Hate to say it man, but that's why most on here won't recommend Exceed or any other low end brands. If you stick with the top brands, you'll be better off, of course there will always be issues no matter what brand you go but the good to bad ratio will be better. Hopefully they take care of you, good luck.

They have not e mailed me back yet? I did send it UPS ground to Ca. from Al.June the 1st. So about 10 business days? should get their. You know I should have at least tried to run the buggy, see if something was a miss in the clutch. But yeah... all that smoke and blue color on the clutch housing... "not good". Radian-tech is where it was purchased. City of industry Ca. I clicked on their website, and clicked new arrivals the Exceed Forza was on sale for $129.00 plus a 10% discount $116.01 and shipping came to $140.09 OTD. Any who... they promised a new buggy will be sent as soon as they receive the return. let me know what you think.:)
