the columns that are holding up the dang patio roof. What the heck happened

Yeah buddy!!!! Nice trade IMO - congrats! Like everyone else apparently,I drove a 70 LeMans through highschool, then had a 71Chevelle,followed by a 72 and another 71 then the ugly 73.
Def keep us up to date on this project, the more pics the better :)

I think it looks like you and your dad got a lot of work ahead of you, LOL!!! not a bad trade though....

you puttin a cam and heads on it? or you just buildin a mild street motor? this thing is gonna need lots of tlc but its gonna be purty when its done!

Probably bore it .030 or .040 with a nice cam possibly heads with a nice intake and carb and dual flows. Nothing crazy.

Yeah, I didn't mean to clutter up the thread with an argument either, sorry everybody. I understand that, and I'd agree.

Congrats on the find H8, keep us posted on it's progress as you bring here back to life.

so were good then. . .i am sorry

lol so a guy just emailed me he has a built small block 400 10:1 pistons and stuff he is going to email me all the specs on it but it only has like 20000 miles on it. He only wants 500 for it. I think I can pick it up for 400 :)

damn dude, i'd jump on that, even if it needs some little things (i:e head gasket, valve cover gasket, ect.) your still not spending a whole hell of a lot on a built motor

you girls going to kiss or what? lol jk.

smart @$$

+1............

If the motor seems tight, and has good compression I'd be all over that. Hell, you'll pay that for a decent block these days.

make sure you get the rotostart for it. I hear they had issues with the pull start.

HOLY SH$T!!!!! So brace yourselves lol.

I told the guy I was probably going to get the 400 so I could leave the 350 in my truck so he gets a complete truck if he wanted to work something out so he sends me this parts list...

The chevelle
saginaw just rebuilt 3 line 4 speed with linkage and shifter
turbo 350 new clutches
700r4
vortec style heads
71 4 bolt main 400 block
NEW 1405 edlebrock 600 cfm performer carb
Forged steel 396 crank (6223) came in a SS 396 375HP motor.

I can't even sit still just that crank alone is worth like 500+ bucks plus the block is pretty rare. OH ITS ON!!!

SOOO STOKED!!!!

Nice project. My very first car was a total POS '76 Malibu. It had a broken drivers side door so I had to open from the passenger side to get in. I broke the signal lever the very first time I tried to use it so everywhere I went I had to use hand signals. The vinyl seats were so tore up every time I got out of the car I had yellow foam bits sticking to me. Gas mileage was great though, I think I got something like 20 city blocks per gallon. It was painted a beautiful orange rust color. Back then I wasn't really into cars yet and didn't appreciate what I had. I ended up giving the car away. Who knew these old clunkers would one day be cool to own? LOL

Good swap! That will be a sweet ride in about 10 years and 20 grand later! Hit your family members up for an Overhaulin' recomendation!

haha id rather do it myself. I dont expect to make it all crazy nice. Just a decent crusier.
