Yes . Is this what your talking about the top is a tmaxx i call them slipper spur and the bottom one has the shoes its a revo. Are these what your trying to compare?

It sez no oil. Your not supposed to oil them because there are friction clutches in there for second gear. And the oil will make it slip.

Sorry Lessen i didn't mean to step on toes.:)

In the ebay link, that is the piece on the close side of the spur gear in the first picture, in between the gear and the nut/spring. That is the slipper clutch. It's job is to save the gears from stripping when they started spinning fast and very suddenly (like when landing a jump). The clutch with clutch shoes attaches to the engine and it's what engages the gears to get them moving to propel the car. I'm not sure if this is what you were asking about or not, but I did my best. They do two separate jobs.

thanks guys!!! u got the question ryt on the head! lol i never realised thats what the slipper clutch was... i fort it was just a big washer haha!!!how do i know when i need a new 1?

when either the pegs or pads are worn all the way down. on a 2.5 its when the pegs are worn down. and in the revo spec stuff its when the pads are worn down

so do i take the bolt and spring off and then the clutch to check that? what exsaccly does it do??

Yea the second picture up there has the shoes on it like what you showed us. They both do there jobs it would be a personal preference IMO.I have them both and they both work just fine. They both protect the tranny.

Hey, D, maybe you should read the bit in the above quote that i have made bold and underlined :hehe:
