My Orion Motor Performance Monitor is fun to play with, but this past RaceDay, I got completely backwards results: The Pro Chameleon that only turned 13500 RPM was doing a great job pulling a 39mm rollout in my TC3. But when I put another (same) motor in for the mains that was doing 19K RPM, the thing fell on its face. Obviously it didn't have the same torque.

Can anyone suggest a (better) dyno that can more acurately measure the actual POWER needed on the track?

Here are a few you can look at
Trinity monster dyno
team integy dyno
Aps dyno
Also need details what color springs are u using what brushes how many mm your tires pinion & spur that way I can give you a motor set up

Hi 710

Its a TC3 with a 69 tooth spur
I've been using pinions from 26 to 35.
I set the rollout for 39mm, but all motors won't pull it.
Lets say the tires are new Jaco's 65mm diameter.

Motors I like to use are the Pro-tuned Chameleons
Last one I used out of the box (they come with 4070 brushes and red/green springs) was only 13500 RPM @ 3 volts and pulled a 30 tooth pinion nicely.

I can get more RPM with 4499 (or 767/766) brushes and red/green springs, like 15k to 18k RPM, but I feel I'm losing torque or power, hence the need for a good dyno.

Dang, some of those computor-dynos are like $7 bills new. Theres an old Tekin slave-motor style that I may try.

Thanks for any tips or clues you might suggest. I ran nitro last year, and the 5 races I've run in electric touring this year has left me scratching my head.

I would change the spur go with a 98 or 100 tooth 64 pitch pinion from 34 to 38 depending on track size.
try trueing the tires down to 58mm & check your ride height.
I would also give the parma foams a try
as for your motor you can try purple/green or purple all around 767 brushes cut your comm & make sure it is clean. LMK How this works for you & you can also look into www.surgeworldwide.com they have some great stock motors that are chameleon based they tune it up nice.
