i use the kind that hang the wheels, yes they definately DO squish the foams and silicones, i rotate them occasionally but try to just drive em often to keep em from staying deformed for as long as they do wheni forget em,
i ptinted em in petg theyve held up perfect for almost i think 6 months now? no sign of distress and my rigs arent the lightest,

I don't have any large crawlers. But man doesn't that screw up the tire and foam? I don't even keep the wheels on my cars so I really just need something to hang the chassis. I guess I am over thinking it. I just need to design a simple hook that I can screw to a wall.

this thing is amazing. printed a bunch of stuff in PC. had a few minor issues with it but i think i should have dried it longer. everything is functionally fine, just some finish flaws.

Everything fits perfectly with zero finishing work.

The support interface could be better, but for PC it easily came off. I wanted to try to use petg on the interface but I had a clog and haven't proceeded with it. It's something I want to test out.

anyone have a good wall hanging mount for their RC cars? should i be worried about the ones that hold them by the wheels? i thought that could damage the tires or foams if it sat a long time and never moved.

My son has a 2020 miata club sport, or something like that. he races it at VIR and other nearby track days and autox. Since he upgraded his seats he lost the headrest speakers that are integrated into the hands-free system for making phone calls and stuff. So he wants to get that back. Luckily he found someone with a wrecked miata that blew all the air bags and he sourced the speakers and their wire harnesses. He has a roll cage that we can mount the speakers to, and even make them removable for safety during track days. My question is what would be the best filament to use for this application? i was thinking PETG would be good enough for UV resistance, durability and generally holding together under long-term stress. Anything else i should consider? i just upgraded my printer so just about any filament is an option (outside of absurdly priced stuff).

Here's a pic of one of the speakers.

I was thinking of making a two-speakerpod solution, one for driver side and one for passenger side and mount them on the horizontal bar or one of the diagonals bars behind the headrest.

PETG is my all-around go-to when I want something functional. I'd maybe go with ASA if you're worried about UV resistance and durability in this case, though, and it also has a higher temp tolerance if you're in a climate where the inside of the car might get hot.

Good thought. NC can have hot summers. I will need to look into how hot cars get and the stats on petg and petg-cf since I have a couple spools of that already.

I ordered the cutting and plotting accessories for the H2D and I'm really hoping the cutter can cut out the stickers that come with pro line bodies on their uncut sheet. This alone will be worth the $70 upgrade 😆

It's supposed to use a camera to detect the stickers and creat a tool path so I hope it works well.

That would be awesome! Definitely take some photos of that process. I've got an M1 Ultra, so I have to align vectors manually, like a peasant.

for sure i will make a quick video tutorial if it works well as i can see this being great tech for someone that does a lot of bodies

ah man, gotta wait for a firmware update or i have to upgrade to the laser system. so annoyed. apparently the Birds Eye camera can only be calibrated with the full laser kit installed: laser mod, laser door panels, laser safety switch, etc. I guess i might be able to purchase it, get the camera setup and return the laser upgrade kit but that would be terribly annoying. The birds eye camera is only a $50 accessory vs the laser kit being 6 or 700. so hopefully that update comes sooner than later

Please let me know how that goes. I've tried printing bodies with paid files and they come out terrible.
this was for the trx4m bronco, printed in 2halves and put them together with a few small rods and shoe goo ,
