I’ve had them prepared every way under the sun… -and have an open mind; as I said.. Don’t know may people that continue to give foods they aren’t fond of “another try” over & over, continuously during the course of their life lol.. Gordon dammit Ramsay could cook ‘em in the nectar of the Gods, and dip ‘em in hash oil, and they still just aren’t gonna do it for me. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣
Conclusion: mushrooms just ain't for you. Fair play for trying. They're an excellent source of magnesium.

Hey, no harm-no foul buddy!

I drink almost a gallon of Almond milk per day, eat a ton of avocados, bananas, pumpkin seeds, and a can of sardines every day.. SPECIFICALLY for the magnesium-among other things, like Selenium.. 😉

There’s not a ton that I won’t eat, buuuuuuut sliced dix is definitely on that list lol.. I do at least try a mushroom once every year or two just to make sure my pallet hasn’t changed. Had a Shitake about a week ago now… Nope; still not a fan. 🤷🏻‍♂️😂
Shiitake is probably not a good choice to try when you're trying to see if you like mushrooms. I love mushrooms, and sometimes I find shiitake unfavorable. White button mushrooms are a lot more flavor neutral. If you're going to try again: saute the white buttons in ribeye dripping with heavy butter and garlic!

Seasoned chicken with mushrooms and bell peppers, cheese rice, and brown bread rolls. Yep I took a bite of the roll before I remembered to take the pic. 😜
Fixed it for ya!

You won’t eat pickles… but you’ll eat that disgusting fungus?! 🤮
I am not a fan of mushrooms either. But I don't know what she did to them, but couldn't taste them and they weren't their usual rubbery, slimy selves. Usually I leave them sitting in a pile on the edge of my plate, or put them on Mrs. Dooms plate. 🤣

I'm enjoying a venison burger on a bagel with bacon, cheddar and a pickle slice right now.

I don't have the butcher add any fat to my ground venison when he processes my deer, as many do. Instead, I add some flax seed meal, Italian breadcrumbs, grated parmesan, and a half packet of onion soup mix to the ground meat. I fry a few slices of bacon first, then cook the burger(s) in that pan.

Ooh la la. Or "Delizioso!" :thumbs-up::thumbs-up:

I’ve tried at least 20 different erasers.. Shitake was just the most recent. It was also the closest to “passing the test” about 10yrs back now.. Not this time-it was hard to get down to say the least..

One last mushroom to try before giving up totally: the Bear tooth lion's mane. Sautéed in butter, it tastes more like lobster than a mushroom. I've never seen them in a store, but I occasionally find one in the woods. They look more like a coral than a fungus. They're very safe to forage because there aren't any poisonous mushrooms that look anything like it. I'm guessing this one weighed about a half-pound. Notice the big leopard slugs on their way to chow down on it. Don't eat any the slugs got to first... their slime trails can be poisonous.

Well, I do respect your effort and not just be a total....

I’d have to wear a blindfold and be lied to about what it was. 🫣

That's an oxymoron, no? 🤔
That oxymoron is as big as a millennium falcon! 😝

Fun fact:

The giant millennium falcon set was housed in a mahoosive hangar here in Wales, at a place called Pembroke Dock. It was once home to flying boats, so the super secure setup there was perfect for secretive filming*.

*The 65 foot, 22 tonne Millennium Falcon was transported in a few sections, along the M4 to Pinewood for filming. The hangars were used only for creating it.

Good, more for me!

Those best by dates are a marketing sham! Producers just want you to buy more of their products quicker. You should be able to tell when food, especially dairy products, are bad. Heck, I've eaten several Duncan Hines cake in a cup, I'd found, buried in the pantry, that was 7 years expired. Did not get remotely sick. Why would I?.....there's barely any natural ingredients in the product. Yet there's an expiration date.

Maybe my GI is just built like that of a billy goat 🤔
I have no clue what this is, I've seen it for the first time in my life

—but that explains the best before date of august 2016 lol. Anyways it was just fine, I paired it with couscous for breakfast

it caused the gluey consistency
Edit: it's apperently ground flax seeds
