Compared to stuff that was on store shelves in the 70s and 80s, you have a lot, lot more healthier options nowadays. While I grew up and love Wonder bread, it has to be one of the unhealthiest thing you could willingly put into your body. The sliced breads we buy for our kids have like 4 ingredients, not 20 chemical compounds. The peanut butter we get consists of no more than 3 ingredients. Plenty of organic produce and meats in every grocery stores. We have an entire store aisle just for water. People are so much more food conscious and informed than they've ever been.
But, sure, plenty of crap to be had should you choose to go that route as well. But unlike the time I grew up, the healthy options are aplenty.
