I make something similar. I make an aioli out of Duke's mayo and my own sauce sorta like Japanese bbq sauce - mirin, honey, soy, brown sugar, ginger, garlic. So good.

With these Oklahoma onion burgers, I'm finding that I just like them plain. Yesterday, I put sliced tomatoes in there and I didn't find it to improve on the taste any. Unlike, a regular grilled burger, where I find tomatoes add a real good flavoring to the mix.
