hi i,m building my little bro. a slash but i was wondering how big should i go i have a a mamba max 7700 in mine and he has driven it 3 times and he can not control it i was thinking a traxxas set up but all my friends have blown up
but i wont him to keep up with me on our track what do you think :D :first_place:

I run a Ezrun brushless combo: the 60A esc + 8.5T sensorless motor, its 4000Kv.
its running now for 6 months and no problems.
Ezrun is good quality for a good price. look on ebay..

I'm thinking about an EZrun for the RC10T I'm working on. I was going to get a 17t just because its a stock equivalent, and the track I race is so loose I don't think I could use much more power than that. Mainly I would go brushless for the low maintenance.

I got the velineon motor with a castle sidewinder ESC. I had complications with the VXL ESC. But for EZrun systems ya can't beat it. Got the 60A 8.5T in my dark impact and it flies. Ya can find 'em pretty cheap on ebay for less than $100. I say go with the 60A 8.5 combo and find the 12V cooling fan as well so you can run 3S LiPo. But if you're having trouble controlling it ya might just want to stick with the stock Titan 12. It's not a bad motor and gives you plenty of power plus it is waterproof as well. You can find an XL-5 ESC for dirt cheap on ebay as well. Just another way to go for a detune instead of brushless power.

Also keep in mind if he is new to controlling these types of vehicles (especially ones with this much power) he may need to practice a bit on a more slower basis until he learns how to control the throttle and use the wide powerband accordingly. It may be useful to stick with a stock brushed setup until he gets the hang of powersliding a 2WD vehicle and utilizing the power so he doesn't spin out or lose control. I'm currently in the same boat with trying to teach my girlfriend how to drive the DI with an extreme brushless setup. She is all over the track with that thing! I tried letting her drive the Slash and she flew sideways off the first jump into the grass.

Running a Castle MM with one of their 5700 motors. Have to keep it geared low (13,90) to keep the temps in line but it flies around the track.

Now if I were just a better driver.

I'am running the HPI flux 5700 setup:p

I run the Novak Havoc 8.5 brushless system, its a great bang for the buck, oh and it also hauls a$$. :thumbup1:
