Been saving up for my next rig and not sure what I should get. I been looking at the Savy XL 5.9 (of course), HPI Hellfire, Team Losi 8ight 1/8 4WD Competition Buggy Kit and the OFNA Hyper 8 RTR w/Macstar .28 (w/FREE Hyper 8.5 Conversion Kit!).

I bash more than i race, but I want something more stable and not so top heavy. Yet I love the Savy's and have heard mostly good things about the Savy XL. The Hellfire seems to be a nice "middle of the road" rig that will be capable on the track, yet still fun to bash with. As for the buggies, I've never owned one, but I have watched them many a times and love the handling on them.

Any thoughts or opinions? Also, please keep to the facts. No offence, but I want to hear from people that either have owned or still do own any of these rigs. Hear say is one thing, experience is another :)

Thanks

Right now i have 2 rigs. I have a somewhat upgraded savy 25 and an associated GT2. I havent run my GT2 since last year. As far as getting more into racing, I would like to, but being in NJ, tracks are hard to come by. the nearest track I have found so far is about 2 hrs away back in PA. BUT, what i'm looking for is a rig that can take a days worth of bashing, yet still competative for the weekends when i goto the track. As much as I hate to say it, the XL is starting to take a back seat and I'm leaning more twards the Hellfire or the buggies.

Look into the MGT's, I like them personally, and they are also pretty durable.

I would look more into a MT if you aren't gonna be racing. A truggy could do for speed and durability. For an MT, look at an MGT or an LST/LST/XXL/Raminator/Aftershock. If you want a truggy, I've always been looking at an MBX5T. I've always trusted Mugen Seiki for durability. If you already have a Savage, I would look look into a different type of RC. Maybe a mini?

Find you a Jammin truggy or buggy. They are bulletproof bashers and can make the leap to the track when you are ready.
