The arms and caster blocks are the same I believe, but I like the rustler better. From everything I have heard is that they are really strong

I own a Rustler, and I haven't bashed it too much yet, since there's a good bit of snow, and I've been running it up and down my road, and it is a real good machine. It handles better than say a Stampede. I've never actually owned a stampede, but I'm guessing at high speeds it would be hard to control, and might even roll over. With my Rustler, I'm able to go 40+ and still be able to stop, and not grip and roll over. I can post some pictures of it if you want, to see the parts.

i say try a slash. you can get the slash, a prophet plus lcd charger, and a 4400 mah battery pack for around $325-350. if thats too high i would go with the stampede. cheap and easy to fix

Funny you mention that. I was just out running mine, and that came off twice. I don't think it's a big deal at all, cause, it kept running fine when it came off, but, I'm not sure...It's easily fixed by just putting it back on.

my first rc was the Traxxas Nitro Sport. its cheap and easy to get parts for. you can also easily turn it into a rustler for not much more $$ when you feel more confident with your driving skills.

All that ring does is protect the cooling head when you flip it over. If it falls off, it wont affect performance.

Run a few zip ties through the top fins to hold it on.

go to traxxas.com type in your area code in the dealer locator thing. look for a hobby shop that says test drive next to it. go to that hobby shop ask to test drive the rusltler or stampede. decide what you like better. then youll know you like it and wont have such a hard time deciding without actually driving it.

well once i went to a dealer with the test drive thing and they said "we can't let you drive b/c of the insurance". but when i went to 1 that didn's say test drive they let me drive.tomarrow I'm going to the first 1 to look and maby test drive

i spent 350, i bought a gallon of fuel, the firestorm, and a glow plug igniter with it

If you get a stampede and want it to handle better on road, get a set of rustler tires/rims and the appropriate pinion gear. If you decide on the rustler and you want more ground clearance sometimes, get a set of bigger tires and some smaller pinions. Either way, bothe machines can be adapted pretty well to handle low and fast or jumping big.

man i can't decide vxl or nitro. the thing with vxl is lipo fires.

I think you would be better off with the vxl. Just my opinion.

i think nitro b/c the fuel is cheeper than batt's and you can keep going and not wait for batts to charge.
