try an xtm x-cellerator, my first "real" rc car was an electric x-cellerator, but my friend has a nitro one and its a good first car, not to fast, stong, cheap.

remember, when buying a rc you can pick only 2 of the following : fast, cheap, reliable.

dude go to your lhs and see if they have some used rcs. most hobby shops around here have rc's that costumers brought in to sell. look around locally before you do something stupid on ebay and waste your money

i got a tmaxx cause i saw a jato and wanted it so fricken bad now i got the tmaxx and i love it durable and fun

rieghard's got the right idea. It's much better to look at stuff in person. Then you can see if it runs, how bad it's been beat, ect... Not just taking a strangers word. Your mind set is backwards. Get a vehicle and follow the directions. Then if there's a problem, ask questions. There's no such thing as too much info, but by the sound of your posts, you have little to no experience. Nothing wrong with that, But it would be better if you follow the specific vehicle you have, or will be getting. Can't change batteries or break in an engine you don't have. Waiting to get a rc is torture, but you don't want to end up being more confused by trying to learn too much about different vehicles at once.

you guys are luckey u have stedy jobs. the clostest thing to a job i have is modding and fixxing psp's(playstation portable). i would love to have a stedy paying job evan if it's min wag

I haven't worked in 3 months, bud. I'm sure I'm not the only one. Tough times. If you want something bad enough, you'll find a way. Lot's of snow to shovel, lots of trees to clean up because of the snow and ice. There is ALWAYS a way. Takes time. And ya gotta get your hands dirty sometimes.

dude I'm only fourteen. in the summer i fix lawn mowers, weedeaters, go-peds etc pretty much any thing with a small engine then save my money till winter then i buy the stuff i need and start building. if i were you i would start with an electric truck because nitro's need alot of maintenence. maybe start with an 18th scale and build it up and get to know the parts, then when your ready sell that and move onto a tenth scale and keep climbing till you get to where you know alot more about them. then youll be on your way to helping kids just like you who need help in the future.

i was asking if u think that would be a good enough so i could go to nitro?

I would say yes. I started with the walmart Crap since i was old enough to hold the remote. I got into airplanes because where I use to live I had a lot of area to fly them. That was about age 10, then at about 14 I got my first Nitro. But other then tuning and some engine problems it ran great. And would have ran better if I knew of this website. I say, get a Stampede or rustler, you already have both and electric and mini and seem to be able to handle the controller and be able to drive a bit with a basic understanding of what all is there and how it works.
