Everyone here has a particular strong point when it comes to RCs and Non RC knowledge.

What this thread is for is to help members find a person to contact.
This is a diverse community with a lot of talented people willing to share their knowledge with others.

What knowledge do you have to share with other RCNT users RC and non RC related?

FastEddy,
My strongest knowledge in RCs is in the finer details of building and maintenance. Its the little things that make a big difference.

Non RC related, Small Business is a strong point. Starting, growing, and maintaining.

RC: This and that. Frankly, most of what I know I learned here. Having 3-4 years in the hobby I think I have a good grasp in tuning, maintenance and repair issues. I consider myself a pretty fair painter of custom bodies so that my be of some value. I also dabble in airplanes and helicopters.

Outside RC: I'm a cooking fool. The kitchen is my second favorite room in the house. I also fly kites as another hobby. Video games and some basic computer stuff. My job makes me a hearing specialist.

Hmm. Well I don't know Jack. :D

But . . . I do read. A LOT. And I've been playing with nitro aircraft since 1986, electrics since about 1989 or so, nitro cars since about 1995, and have learned a lot of stuff (and heard a lot of BS) along the way.

If there's one thing I know - the more you learn, the bigger the world gets. My interest in this hobby, as far as the Internet goes, is to share all the verifiable info I can, try to dispell the myths, and have absolutely no problem with the fact that "I don't know" being a perfectly valid answer. :D

Non - RC - my passion is perl programming, Javascript, Flash, hell any programming, I don't know why, I just dig it and that's what I do for a living.

And fishing. Fishing kicks ass. :D

R/C
Well, most of my experience is with On-road nitro. My tuning ability is above average. Onroad handling and suspension settings is probably where I try to excel at and consider myself slightly above average. Driving, well that's a different story. I'm working on that.

Non R/C
I specialize in highspeed buffing, sandblasting and refurbishing of Surgical instruments as well as recalibration. Chisles, scissors, gouges (most of the general orthopedic isntruments) can be sharpened and honed to exact cutting precision by me. Basically, all the stuff that a carpenter uses, orthopedic doctors use in surgery. I'll make them sharp enough to shave with.

All the things I do at work, I can also apply to r/c's so it kinda crosses over ... to a point.

bigfreak:

I've been racing 8th scale buggies for a few seasons now. Of the three bugies I've had, I have the most experience with my current Mugen MBX5. I have a Top P5 (Novarossi)engine. I had some junk engines before that (RG and some others), but I know the P5 the best. I'm not a "great" racer by any means so most of what I can share is in the way of maintance, repair and my general experience in the hobby.

Outside of RC, I enjoy my xbox hobby. If anyone wants to learn how to mod an xbox without ever turning a screw, opening the case or picking up a sodering iron, I will gladly enlighten you to the ways of the "softmod". The stock xbox has 5 gigs of free space doing nothing. You'd be surprised the things you can do with 5 gigs of space and a modded xbox. ;)

Outside of the xbox and RC, I'm pretty good with computers (I'm an IT manager).

I am fairly new to RCs. I been into it for just over a year and have a had a few offroad vehicles, 1/10 truck, 1/8 buggy and 1/8 MT. I'm a perfectionist so when it comes to tuning I've got it down pretty good. I also have a general knowledge about the basic setup in a ride.

Non - RC - I work in international trade, the law enforcement side so if you have any questions about that ask, if I don't know the answer I can get you one. I also love anything electric in a car, from audo to lighting, anything custom like that I've got it covered.

I've also ski, I've been skiing for about 13 years with about 7 snowboarding. I've even been a ski-patrol. ATOMIC rocks!

Everything I know/cliam to know about RC's I stole from the internet. I am proficent with computers and I am an aspiring Porn Star that is currently starving.

i have a basic knowledge of r/c's I'm not to big on the engine mechanics but i got everything else down. as far as non r/c i custom paint and general mechanics.

For RC, I know enough to get by so I don't break stuff....most of the time ;)

I'm alright at flying r/c planes. Been doing that for longer than r/c cars.

My R/C experience shines through when it comes to building, care & maintenance... I can be anal at times when it comes to my rides... lol Tuning, well.... I'm ok, but still learning all the tricks & tweaks... I've also airbrushed a few nice bodies for myself and RCNT members..

Outside of R/C, I've been doing Residential/Commercial HVAC & plumbing for 14 years, and consider myself very good at what I do.. So if anyone has any questions regarding Heating, Air Conditioning or Plumbing, just ask....
Remember, poop likes to flow downhill..... :thumbdown

RC
While I'm still relatively new to the hobby I like to think I'm pretty good at building modifying RC's. I have also gotten pretty good at suspension tuning.Other than that I'm still learning the ins and outs of the hobby. My engine tuning skills need work still but I'm getting there.

NonRc
I rebuild engines and tune imports in my spare time. I work mainly on Honda, Mitsu, and Mopar four cylinders but can also work with Chevy V8's too.I can do anything from custom turbo installs to engine swaps. I've also been called the "wiring guy" by most of my freinds.I get to do most of the wiring on all my freinds cars.Everything from harness rewiring and plug adapting to stereo installs.

RC
been in the hobby for roughly 8 years. started in electrics, now exclusively nitro with the exception of my micro heli. building and tuning are strong points. diagnosing problems comes easy. i can barely paint my way out of a box.

non-RC
I'm a CNC programmer/machinist. I've run multi-axis mills, lathes, and swiss turn centers. i work on watercooled VW's fpr fun, and have a very good working knowledge of how to build custom turbo systems. anything mechanical seems to come naturally to me.

RC related
I am a basher. I have run just about every type of wheeled RC (electrics, onroad, offroad, MTs, buggies, etc.) I am good at a lot and master of nothing. I learn as much as I teach and freely admit to my mistakes. So ask away...if I don't know it, I'll try and find it.

non-RC related
Far too many things to list. I do not know what my strongest area of knowledge is or my most favorite non-RC hobby might be. I do a lot, and fly in the Navy. Ask me anything, and if I can provide information about your topic...I will.

R/C

engine/clutch tuning would be my second strongest point next to driving. I'm just now beginning to learn chassis tuning after two seasons of racing. building and maintenance would be another strong area for me. painting? i couldnt hit the side of a barn if i were standing inside it.

NON R/C

my career is based on casting and spraying plastics, resins, fiberglass, and gel-coats. I've been in it for about 10 years now and have had my own business for the past 8 years.

I've raced ATV's, motorcycles, and several different types of 1:1 cars.

i have a degree in phsycology which very few of my friends know about.

anything in relation to mechanics is has always felt like common sense to me.

I'm pretty much a jack of all trades (master of none), but have very little knowledge of these stupid computers. all i know is that they cannot think or they will shut down.

Hmmm.

R/C: Been in the hobby for less than a year. Most everything I've learned has come from this website. I only have two vehicles. a T-Maxx and a Mini-T. In the very short time I've been around I feel I have a pretty good idea of the general problems people run into with the Maxx. My T-Maxx was basically a kit project consisting of mostly aftermarket parts and some really basic fabrication.

I like to think outside of the box. I'm really creative although I lack the tools and knowledge to make my ideas come to life. (not a machinest, don't own a welder, limited tools, etc...) i often wonder about the future of r/c and what is possible given the opportunity.

non R/C: um... nothing. I'm basically an "old-soul", blue-collared, middle class married man @ 23 y/o. No "higher education" or special training. Damn, I feel like a loser now... lol

I'm a jack of all trades, master of none! I repair boats for a living, anything from a jetski to a houseboat, any part thats broke I fix. Includes fiberglass and gelcote, mechanical, electrical, transport, salvage&recovery anything really. If you have a boat and need advise just ask!

RC? Well, I know my way around a Savage, RS4 and Maxx pretty well. I've learned alot of what I know right here. Ill help however I can.

RC I think my strong suits are in tuning and diagnostics. But still learning every day. I have been running
Nitro only for about 5 to 6 years now and have learned more here on rcnt then any were else..So my category jack of all trades
master of none

Non R/c I am a journeyman millwright by trade but have been welding for the last 5 years..
Other interest hunting (bow) fishing.

Other about me: Iam very short in temper piss me off and I have no problem telling you.. lol

PSUNITRO:

RC: I know almost nothing. Only been into it for a year, but learning curve is high.

NON RC: Machinist by trade, if ya' want to know what to make a part out of and the best way to do it,let me know. I know a thing or two about h2o cooled VW's/Audis. HMMMMM,guess I know a thing or 2 about kids as well!(I have 3)

These are almost sounding like personals, LOL

i have been in and out of rc's sence i was 18 (now 32) i have got a lot of what i have learned from rcnt I'm ok at painting and repair of rc's and makeing differant parts out of ti (friend get it for me free) anything i can do to help others out i try to

non rc I'm pretty good at fixing electric things and working on 1:1 cars

R/C
well, i'm still pretty new to the hobby but, i like to consider myself decent at building shocks and setting them up for different tracks, jumps etc. I'm hoping to learn how to to tune an engine next year when it gets warmer because pretty much anything with an engine interests me.

Non R/C
need help mudding? call me :hammer: ill fix anythign with a little duct tape lol
