Hi all, what is the differance between savage 25, ss and savage 4.6???
Is the savage ss a unassembled kit version of the savage 25?
Do they all have roto start?
How hard are they 2 build?
Gona order 1 asap, please help.

The Savage 25 had a .25 engine and 4.6 has a .28 engine and it is a kit that you would have to put together. The differences would be on engine size. Now that depens on you on how much power u want and if u want to build it yourself.

What about the ss 25?
Do they all have roto start?
Thanks.

The ss 25 is just the kit version on the savage 25 rtr but is older. The SS 4.6 is the new version of the ss 25. The ss and the new 4.6 also dont come with electronics (I believe). Theres also the Savage 25 limited edition now that comes with a tuned pipe, and the 3 speed tranny.

I would go kit now, but thats just me... I like the idea of the new LE savage... makes me want one even more now!!!

In addition to the differences above, the Savage 25 comes with GT-5 wheels and GT1 tires. It also has a plastic exhaust pipe. The SS4.6 comes with dirt bonz tires (similar to proline bowties), 8 spoke wheels and the polished aluminum pipe. The SS 4.6 also has hardened chrome diff drive cups, wheel dogbones and the dual disk brakes.

I have an older SS kit and it was not hard to put together at all. The assembly that gave me the most trouble was installing the clutch shoes onto the flywheel. Otherwise, just make sure you get some quality hex and screw drivers and assembly will be a breeze.

Out of all three versions that are out right now, I would go for the SS 4.6. You can choose your own electronics and the skills you learn while building it will be a big help later if something breaks. It's drivetrain will be more durable due to the hardened diff drive cups and chrome dogbones and it will accelerate faster than the Savage 25 due to it's lighter wheels/tires.

The LE version of the Savage 25 looks good if you don't want to build, but I'd toss out the electronics and pick up a quality FM radio and stronger servos for steering and throttle/brake.

also i think the savage 4.6 comes with some more racing styled (dirt bonz) tires instead of the standard meat grinder types.

I don't think you will regret it. I just got one, but I checked ebay for a different set of tires because the Dirt Bonz will wear quick on gravel and asphalt (two things we have a lot of here), and I like the bigger tires, since they look more like monster truck tires. Got a set of brand new tires and wheels for a Associated Monster GT (they fit perfectly) from ebay for $35 shipped. here is a picture of it with the MGT tires.
