I just got an Airtronics MX-3S with no receiver. Its synthesized and the receiver that was supposed to come with it is $129 new,Link , are there any other receivers that I could use with this, or am I stuck purchasing this receiver for $129 bucks.

You don't have to get a synth RX. You can go with a standard Airtronics unit with a crystal. I have used Novak RXs just fine with my M8 in the past.

So if i dont use the synth RX then one with a crystal will work as long as its an Airtronics unit and is a 75mhz crystal?

If your TX is 75 mhz then yes. I have also used a Novak and Futaba RX with my M8.

Do a range test before you trust it.

by that he means put your car at the end of your street and see if it doesn't glitch or anything, and if it works you'll be fine when you drive it. If you don't do this, you could possibly kill your car....

I prefer to have someone operate the TX as I walk away. Take note of how far you can go before it starts to loose signal. If you try to do it yourself, its hard to see exactly whats going on.

Well.... i dont have any friends... so i can't do it that way :loser: jk.... i did your method ed, but this is in case you are by yourself.
