Pretty sure that's why when anyone gets a boat, usually gets 2 boats. Probably best if you get a nitro one, get an electric "recovery" boat as well. Although, I think some nitro ones have an electric reverse... still, probably easier to maneuver around with an electric one to get the other one unstuck, or pushed to you.I'd love to buy and build a Kyosho Javelin. I'd also like a boat, but with my luck, I'd get it stuck in some weeds the first time I ran it and would have to swim for it.

Nope, pop the case apart, pull it down, and the fan has a plug it connects into the circuit board with. To me the beauty of the MMM was that it wasn't waterproof so the temps escape very easily. That's why it's so much more powerful than the modern MM2 and MMX, oh and also firmware 1.24 has no amp restrictions. (Only available on the MMM and MM2-RETRO) makes them extremely sought after for drag racers. I'm gonna band together with someone on those forums to see if I can hack 1.24 onto my mxl 6s.I want something that doesn't exist. A 4wd nitro stampede with a 2 speed in it. Or something of equivalent size with a 2 speed in it.
For me, the t-maxx/revo's were too heavy for the engines supplied if you ran in grass a lot. Did ok on dirt/pavement, but even the 3.3 wasn't enough for me in the grass.
So, something a bit smaller and lighter but with a similar drive train.
I have one of those esc's and the tork 2200kv motor in a drawer from my savage flux HP. I replaced it with a MMX/2200kv sensored system. The MMv1 wasn't waterproof and neither is the rebadged version for HPI. I just got a bottle of conformal coating. Will try taking it apart, cleaning it, soldering on a new fan plug (I think the fan is soldered to the bottom of the circuit board), then keep it as a backup. I have a feeling the castle svt sv3/3800 system I have in my stampede 4x4 is going to have heat issues when running on 3S once summer is here... so, may put it in that.
I need the waterproof. I run in wet grass way too often to have anything else. I hadn't had it out of the esc case for a very long time, so couldn't recall if it had a connector or not. Mine had firmware 1.39 (Beta) in it. Device F360C. I had the castle link to dial down the punch as it was set to a brutal level when I got it. I only ran 4S, but it would spend half it's time on it's roof until I dialed it down.Nope, pop the case apart, pull it down, and the fan has a plug it connects into the circuit board with. I had a very lengthy thread in the Traxxas forums trying to revive my old MMM and had the whole thing apart and everything. Worst part is I found and know whats wrong and have the parts to fix it, but not the tiny soldering iron id need. I'll just trade it in for a sidewinder 8th I guess.
Ah what a shame. Hopefully you can revert to 1.24 (I think you can with no issues). That’s the discrepancy between us, I had the F310C early version.I need the waterproof. I don’t know, like I said I got mine when they were still running the original badass mamba monster 1.
See, people fail to realize, that thing is an absolutely FANTASTIC platform, because it has been sold for almost a decade (2 or 3 years to go) and has outlived 2 generations of speed controls (mamba monster 1 and then replaced with mamba monster 2) AND NOW has a THIRD speed control (which is sadly a normal hobbywing) but it just goes to show how long it’s been living as a top seller AND performer, with all the technology advancements the design is picture perfect.
And let me clarify the only change ever made to it has been electronic related. (Keep in mind, they never put any bad electronics in the car at all, the truck has simply been living so long that the stuff in it got discontinued, and the stuff that replaced that was also discontinued, so now they’re on the third thing.) No drivetrain or suspension or anything of that nature has been touched because of just how well thought out the tank was made, even down to the fact that it comes stock with spiral cut diff gears. No wonder it’s held up to 6s power since 2011.
Why replace a stadium truck with a buggy? Why not get the Team Associated RC10T6.1?Tekno ET410 truggy kit and probably an Associated B6 to replace this crappy Rustler I've been breaking repeatedly at the track .
I think they used to yes.Did CEN ever make a buggy? A guy at work was given a box of old RC parts (long story but inherited) and brought them in so I could look at them. They were NIB CEN parts for a car of some sort like a buggy or street car. I couldn’t find the model they were for though.
That's funny, because the term "flux" in HPI means electric lol... that's the electric version. The savage XL is the same size as the savage flux, just nitro.I was close to getting an HPI at one point. I wanted the Savage Flux but the size and being nitro was a big no, so I turned my attention to the Savage XS but luckily I saw it in person at my LHS one day and it didn't impress me all that much, plus that boring white body it comes with was a deal breaker. That's how I eventually ended up going with the Arrma Granite, otherwise I'd be posting in some HPI forum somewhere lol.
I have the X (nitro standard length chassis) and Flux HP (electric standard length chassis). They are both pretty good. Especially now that parts are becoming available again.Thought it was nitro. I do think the nitro version looks sick, maybe the coolest RTR MT I've seen yet aside from the X-Maxx.
